American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) continues its 2017-18 season with Bess Wohl's fresh, perceptive comedy Small Mouth Sounds (October 11­-December 10, 2017).

Today, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced the appointment of Jill MacLean as the company's new Young Conservatory Director. MacLean succeeds Craig Slaight, who recently retired after 29 years at the helm.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that single tickets for A.C.T.'s 2017-18 subscription season are now available. Filled with vital, brave, and imaginative storytelling that unites vigorous, highly theatrical works with a stunning gathering of contemporary artists, A.C.T.'s 2017-18 season features William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring Obie Award winner and 2017 Tony Award nominee John Douglas Thompson in the title role, joined by stage and screen star Carl Lumbly; Bess Wohl's critically acclaimed comedy Small Mouth Sounds; Harold Pinter's classic drama The Birthday Party; Qui Nguyen's irreverent new comedy Vietgone; Simon Stephens's new hit play Heisenberg; and Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks's Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), an epic, music-infused take on the Odyssey set against the backdrop of the Civil War. Closing out the 2017-18 season will be the world-premiere musical A Walk on the Moon, based on the 1999 movie of the same name. Following sold-out performances around the world, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) will present the West Coast premiere of Refuse the Hour, the critically acclaimed multimedia chamber opera conceived by and starring renowned South African artist William Kentridge.

The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce an extraordinary line-up of local and national, returning and debuting artists in the 2017/18 Season. Last night, Jo Schuman Silver-producer of Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon-announced the three Bay Area high school winners of the 15th Anniversary of The Steve Silver Foundation & Beach Blanket Babylon "Scholarship for the Arts." 

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Cost of Living, the new play by Martyna Majok (Ironbound, Mouse in a Jar), directed by Jo Bonney (Father Comes Home from the Wars; By the Way, Meet Vera Stark), begins performances tonight, Tuesday May 16, at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).
