MET Presents 'YOUNG OLYMPIANS' This Weekend

Mythological mayhem is returning to Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) this May when the award winning fun-filled family musical for all ages, 'The Young Olympians and the Most Amazingly Awesome Adventure Ever', takes to the stage for one weekend only.  Olympians will play at MET, located at 31 W Patrick in downtown Frederick, this weekend, May 30 and 31 at 3:30pm.

MET's Fun Company to Premiere A WISH COME TRUE

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, is proud to present the World Premiere of "A Wish Come True".  The modern day "Aladdin" adaptation by MET company member Caitlyn Joy will be directed by fellow company member Lia Seltzer.  Full of fun and memorable characters the show will feature catchy original music by local composer and Urbana high school student Connor Cochran.  The magical tale tailored for audiences ages ten and older will run at MET in June for eight performances over four weeks.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, is proud to present a World Premiere adaptation of the classic tale of a young mermaid who longs to be human, "The Little Mermaid".  Featuring an original score by Callan Holderbaum, MET company member Laura Stark will direct an original adaptation by fellow company member Devin Gaither based on the fairy-tale by Hans Christian Anderson.  An entertaining show for the whole family, it will run at MET this April and May for nine performances over five weeks. Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents the third play in its seventeenth Mainstage season, the World Premiere of 'A Revolutionary Christmas'. Written by Reiner Prochaska and directed by Suzanne Beal, the play tells the story of a family living on a German farm in Frederick during the Revolutionary War. When they end up taking an escaped Hessian soldier captive, the soldier helps them rediscover love, hope, forgiveness, and the meaning of Christmas. A show for the whole family and an excellent way to celebrate the holidays, it will run at MET this December for fourteen performances over four weeks.

A community collaboration between Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) MET-X and Frederick Community College's Theatre FCC will produce the World Premiere of 'The Wizard of Odd'. In this re-interpretation of the classic tale, 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', outsider Dee finds himself in an odd fantastical world filled with strange creatures. In his journey to find his way home, he meets a trio of misfits who help him discover the true meaning of friendship, home and self worth. The 'Wizard of Odd' is coming to the JBK Theatre at Frederick Community College (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick) from today, August 8 through 16.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to present the second installment of the comedy variety show, The Annual Live 2: The Sequeling. Join The Annual Live cast as a they find themselves in the middle of a heated Twitter campaign to cancel their show following a sketch that is unfit for press releases. In an attempt to straighten out the show's host (Kevin Cole) and the rest of the staff (Lisa Burl, Colleen Kelly, and Scott Travers) the network places a call to the convent to bring Karli Cole, the former co-host and current nun, to whip them into shape. Meanwhile, facing exile, Andrew Michaels, the show's sad sack, is forced to find love, someone who will look past every awkward and unlovable thing about him and take care of him for life. It's a comedic adventure that can safely be called The Larry Sanders Show meets Nunense meets Everybody Loves Raymond meets The Glass Menagerie,if none of those sound appealing then one might just want to stay in for the night.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces Summer Line-up

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) has a full slate of programming this summer including a handful of Ensemble Member produced shows, the annual community collaboration with Frederick Community College, and The Comedy Pigs' anniversary shows. In addition to those shows the MET is also offering four sessions of Fun Camp and The Ensemble Schoolis offering an adult acting class and an adult improv workshop series.
