Theatre Group at SBCC Presents BECKY'S NEW CAR, Now thru 5/11

The Theatre Group at SBCC will present the new comedy BECKY'S NEW CAR by Steven Dietz as the final play in the 2012/2013 season. Directed by Katie Laris, Becky's New Car will run tonight, April 24-May 11, 2013 in the intimate Jurkowitz Theatre.

VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, Marion McClinton Directing OTHELLO and More Set for Guthrie's 2013-14 Season

Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced 12 mainstage productions of the theater's 2013-2014 season. The theater's 51st season includes first-time Guthrie productions of playwrights Beth Henley and Nina Raine, classics on the Wurtele Thrust Stage directed by Dowling and Marion McClinton, WorldStage Series presentations of returning companies Kneehigh Theatre and Out of Joint, as well as a summertime slate of a beloved musical and a Christopher Durang comedy that is currently a Broadway hit.

Imagination Stage Receives Two Helen Hayes Awards

At the 2013 Helen Hayes Awards, Imagination Stage received two awards for The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Imagination Stage is extremely proud of this collaboration with The Washington Ballet, and though it was the riskiest production the organization has ever produced, it was also the highest grossing show in Imagination Stage's history and broke attendance records.

Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from the Devil's point of view, will be performed at the Gallo Center for the Arts at 7:30 pm tonight, April 10. Veteran 'Screwtape' actor Max McLean stars in the production.

THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, described as the provocative and wickedly funny theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, will return to Minneapolis for three performances only, after a successful engagement in May 2011. The production will run at the Pantages Theatre, 710 Hennepin Avenue, on Friday, May 10 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 11 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Denver Center Theatre Company Announces Upcoming Season

The Denver Center Theatre Company announced a 10-play season including four exhilarating world premieres selected from the 2013 Colorado New Play Summit. Karen Zacarias' adaptation of Helen Thorpe's book Just Like Us, Catherine Trieschmann's comedy The Most Deserving, Matthew Lopez's heartfelt The Legend of Georgia McBride and Marcus Gardley's adaptation of Homer's epic poem, black odyssey, will all take to the stage to dazzle Denver audiences. Also selected for the season is a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, an adaptation of a Marx Brother's script, Shakespeare's tragic masterpiece, a powerful and poignant love story and the return of a Christmas classic. 'We had such compelling and imaginative writing at this year's Colorado New Play Summit that could not be overlooked,' said Producing Artistic Director Kent Thompson. 'Our selections this year are wide-ranging and diverse and I think will bring excitement to our patrons' experience at the theatre.'

Novelist Jon Saboe has developed a strong cult following, solely on the basis of his two adventure narratives, The Days of Peleg and The Days of Laméch. Though the books have amassed passionate and outspoken fans, it is not enough for Saboe, whose greatest passion is for sharing his stories with as many eager readers as possible.
