Theater J, the nation’s largest and most prominent Jewish theater and Solas Nua, Washington DC’s leading multidisciplinary Irish arts organization, have announced a co-commission of Irish Yiddishist Caraid O’Brien. O’Brien will translate and adapt Sholem Asch’s classic Yiddish play Rabbi Doctor Silver. 

From January 22-30, Theater for the New City will present the New Yiddish Rep's production of 'Di Froyen' (The Women), based on the play 'Women's Minyan' by Naomi Ragen, adapted for the Yiddish Rep by Melissa Weisz and Malky Goldman. Director is Rachel Botchan.  The play is a one-act drama of an abused Orthodox Jewish wife who is being kept from her children.

From April 16-30, 2021, Carnegie Hall will present Voices of Hope, an online festival that examines the resilience of artists, exploring works that they felt compelled to create despite—and often because of—appalling circumstances and human tragedy.

One week after Ash Wednesday, the Congress for Jewish Culture has posted its special celebration of writer Sholem Asch with their online event titled ASCH WEDNESDAY. The Congress for Jewish Culture is hosting a special Facebook Live panel tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. EST to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the very first performance of THE DYBBUK, the world’s most famous Jewish play by S. Ansky.

The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) have announced the full lineup of events for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest.
