DCPA Theatre Company Kicks Off First-Ever Local Playwrights' Slam Tonight

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) Theatre Company announced today that Colorado playwriting group Rough Draught Playwrights will curate the inaugural Local Playwrights' Slam during the local weekend of the 2015 Colorado New Play Summit. The Slam will take place in the Jones Theatre at 7:30 p.m. tonight, February 14.

And Toto too Theatre Company is proud to be a part of Swan Day, an International Celebration of the Woman Artist. Join the company on March 29, 2014 from 7-10 pm at Skylight Station, 910 SantaFe, Denver CO 80204, in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts District. The evening starts with a mixer, followed by 10 minute readings of work by local playwrights Nina Alice Miller, Leslie C. Lewis, Melissa Lucero McCarl, Rebecca Gorman O'Neill, and Susan Hickey, the work of visual artists Tracy Frickey and Deb Hultgren and the work of the women from MissionWear.org. In 'The Santa Suit,' Sorbo plays greedy elitist and Hunter Toys CEO Derek Hunter who looks down on the whole of humanity until he is suddenly transformed from Fortune 500 phenom to Santa Claus to learn that when people are stripped of worldly splendor, and have nothing except their humanity to define them, they tend to make more heartfelt and purposeful choices.
