Actor Bruce Davison certainly needs no introduction. He has starred on stage, screen and television in a multitude of complex roles over the last almost 50 years. He is most remembered for his early film Willard in the 60s and his stunning Oscar-nominated role in Longtime Companion from the early 90s. Davison is currently onstage in Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight at the Pasadena Playhouse, co-starring Sharon Lawrence and Roxanne Hart. Further to previous notices, producers today confirmed that From Here to Eternity will close on 29 March 2014 following a six month run at the Shaftesbury Theatre. ?From Here to Eternity is adapted from one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century, this gripping tale of illicit love and army life unites the writing talents of Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music) and Bill Oakes (book). It marks Tim's first new stage musical for over ten years and Stuart's West End debut.
On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.

The Palm Springs Cultural Center announces a new addition to its annual line-up of cultural programs and special events -- The Stanley Kramer Film Festival will debut at Camelot Theatres today, November 15th and run through Sunday, November 17th. The 2013 event, which is designed to coincide with other Stanley Kramer Centennial events taking place this year, will include special screenings of six of Stanley Kramer's best-known films. It will also feature special events, and special appearances with actress Karen Sharpe Kramer, Stanley Kramer's widow, and his daughter, the actress and singer, Katharine 'Kat' Kramer.
Museum of the Moving Image's ongoing series See It Big! presents classic and contemporary films on the big screen in the beautiful Sumner M. Redstone Theater. In November and December, the Museum will showcase 22 films photographed by some of the world's greatest cinematographers, including Gordon Willis, Vittorio Storaro, Vilmos Zsigmond, Nestor Almendros, Raoul Coutard, James Wong Howe, and more.
