Lea DeLaria, Joey Arias & Stephen Wallem to Join Lance Horne at Birdland, 3/31

LANCE HORNE - the Emmy Award winning composer, musician, vocalist and producer - will make his Birdland debut with a special concert on Monday, March 31 at 7:00 PM. Lea DeLaria, Joey Arias, Stephen Wallem and Michael Rose have joined the evening as special guests, in addition to the previously-announced Alan Cumming, Alice Ripley and Rachel Dratch. They will perform songs from his acclaimed CD First Things Last in addition to a special preview of The Night Before My Wedding, Horne's upcoming collaboration with Neil Gaiman. Lance will also headline a special concert at Rockwood LA on April 15 with guest stars to be announced and an additional event this spring in San Francisco. He has contributed a movement to Tyler's Suite, a choral song-cycle dedicated to Tyler Clementi, the 18-year-old Rutgers University student that took his life three years ago. The piece, which also includes contributions from Stephen Schwartz, Ann Hampton Callaway and Craig Carnelia, will premiere from the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus on March 25-26. Allison Case, Adam Chanler-Berat, Peter Friedman & More to Star in Playwrights Horizons's New Musical FLY BY NIGHT

Playwrights Horizons has announced additional casting for its current 2013/2014 Season. The announcement includes complete casting for the New York premiere of FLY BY NIGHT: A NEW MUSICAL, conceived by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still), written by Will Connolly (performer, Once), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents, the upcoming film The Giver) and Ms. Rosenstock, and directed by Carolyn Cantor (The Great God Pan and After the Revolution at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Flower Water). STAGE KISS, by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl, will also welcome Ken Marks to the cast for the final two weeks of its run.

The fun new musical FIRST DATE boasts music from Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner and a book by Austin Winsberg. The show tells the story of what happens when hipster serial dater Casey (Krysta Rodriguez) and uptight Aaron (Zachary Levi) are set up for a blind date at a restaurant downtown. The investment banker and artist-type don't quite hit it off but they don't fall apart either. The other restaurant goers become every person who could stand in the way or influence a date, each one with a colourful song of their own. Sisters, ex's, best friends and more make an appearance during this dynamic blind date.
