BWW CD Reviews: Ghostlight Records' LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST (Original Cast Recording) is Addictive and Clever

Last summer, The Public Theater, Michael Friedman, and Alex Timbers reunited to gift New York City with a free production of LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Like their BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the team used brilliant and inspired anachronisms to make the Shakespearean comedy relevant for modern audiences. They also did it as a musical. Now Ghostlight Records has released the audaciously quirky LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST (Original Cast Recording) for us all to enjoy.

Bryce Pinkham to Host Benefit Concert for Zara Aina at Joe's Pub, 7/28; Laura Osnes, Adriane Lenox & More to Perform

Bryce Pinkham, the Tony-nominated co-star of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, will host Broadway Sings Its Heart Out, a one-night-only, star-studded concert benefitting Zara Aina - the organization founded by Mr. Pinkham and Lucas Rooney that offers children in Madagascar the tools to succeed as students and story tellers by delivering school supplies to their villages and producing their original works of theatre.

The Public Theater presents the free one-night event, PUBLIC FORUM: SHAKESPEARE IN AMERICA, tonight, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Doctorow, Jackie Hoffman, Justin Levine, Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson, and Micah Stock join this exciting evening, which will celebrate Shakespeare and the newly released Library of America book, Shakespeare in America, edited by Public Theater Shakespeare Scholar in Residence James Shapiro.

As previously reported, the Tony Awards Administration Committee determined that Best Sound Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Musical Categories would be eliminated from the established list of competitive categories, beginning with the 2014-2015 season. The Tony Administration Committee may bestow a Special Tony Award to a production when it determines that extraordinary sound design has been achieved.
