The five-time Tony Award®-nominated smash-hit musical ROCK OF AGES will be rocking Boston's Colonial Theatre for a limited two-week engagement October 6 - 17, 2010.

On August 24, Sony Masterworks releases The Essential Lena Horne, which spans thirty years of the legendary artist's career, from her first recordings in 1941 to her live recordings of the 1950s and '60s. This 39-song, 2-CD collection of golden standards includes six tracks previously unavailable on CD and begins and ends with irreplaceable versions of her signature song, 'Stormy Weather.'

New Village Arts, Carlsbad's award-winning, professional theatre is very proud to announce its Tenth Season. This will be NVA's biggest season ever, with eight full productions, NVA's first musical and two local premieres. Over the past nine seasons, NVA has established itself as one of the most important mid-sized theatres in San Diego, producing over 40 highly acclaimed productions, including a world-premiere holiday show, multiple regional and local premieres, unforgettable American and world classics, the intense work of Sam Shepard and the popular FREE Shakespeare in the Park. New Village Arts honors that history in Season 10 and introduces some exciting new traditions for North County, by selecting shows that honor the history of the company, recognize the amazing current growth and give an intriguing glimpse into the future. Oh, there were big goings-on in the Showtuneland of Chicago this past weekend! And a whole lot of talkin' goin' on. But before we get to that particular topic, I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you some Chicago-based highlights of my recent trip to New York: observations, thoughts and feelings that many of you may have had this spring or summer on a similar trip.

As BroadwayWorld has reported, Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis will perform for the last time as 'Drew' on Broadway Thursday, September 9 before headlining the First National Tour of ROCK OF AGES, debuting in Chicago on September 21. Joey Taranto will take over the role of 'Drew' at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). Additional cast changes include Mitchell Jarvis playing his final performance as 'Lonny' on Sunday, September 5 and taking over the role of 'Stacee Jaxx' from James Carpinello, who will play his final performance on a date to be determined. Jay Klaitz, recently of Lend Me a Tenor, to begin performances as 'Lonny' on Monday, September 6. BroadwayWorld has learned that joining Maroulis on tour are Joey Calveri, Erika Shannon, Angela Brydon, Casey Tuma and Burn the Floor's MiG Ayesa, who will be assuming the role of Stacee Jaxx.

Real life New Jersey couple, 27 year olds Sharyn Krum and Paul Fontana, lived out their Broadway fairytale by getting married on stage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre yesterday, August 9, 2010. They found common ground over their shared love of Rock of Ages and were married by the newly ordained, and their favorite, Rock of Ages character 'Lonny' (played by Mitchell Jarvis). The Broadway cast were guests at the ceremony and reception.

Last night, August 5, the ROCK OF AGES Broadway cast and members of the newly announced touring cast partied together at BB Kings in Times Square to live 80's tunes by Lipstick & Leather, in addition to additional rock band cover singers. While most celebs travel incognito, Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis basked in the spotlight last night. After his performance of ROCK OF AGES, the Tony Award nominee graciously signed autographs for fans who lined up outside the stage door, before crossing the street to his own private CitySights tour bus. The former 'Idol' star and his entourage headed over to the show's after party at B.B. Kings on top of the iconic double-decker blue bus for all passersby to see. Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical, ROCK OF AGES announced that Josephine Rose Roberts will take over the role of 'Regina,' beginning tonight, Monday, August 2, 2010 at 8pm. Roberts comes to Broadway after playing the role of 'Regina' at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. She takes over the role from Lauren Molina, who played her final performance Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 7:30pm.
