For me, 2012 has been a fantastic year. In February, I found out I had won Broadway Across America - Houston's reviewing contest for the second half of their 2011-12 season. Having always wanted to be a theater reviewer, I was thrilled beyond imagination. Sitting in Sarofim Hall waiting for Carrie Fisher to take the stage in her one-woman show WISHFUL DRINKING, I knew I didn't want this journey to end. On May 16, 2012, I contacted BroadwayWorld, and they gave me the opportunity to cover the impressive and large Houston Theatre Scene. My tenure in Houston has not been terribly long, but as 2012 draws to a close, I wanted to take the opportunity to review some of my favorite experiences that writing for BroadwayWorld has afforded me.

On Jan. 21, 2013 at 7:00pm and 9:30pm, the work of award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (35MM: A Musical Exhibition) returns to Joe's Pub performed by special guests.

The Marcus Center and Broadway Across America have signed a new, 8-year agreement to continue jointly presenting Broadway at the Marcus Center. The Marcus Center has presented a Broadway Series in Milwaukee for 17 years, welcoming over 1.6 million patrons to over 1,000 Broadway performances.

BIG FISH, a new musical based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 Columbia Pictures film written by John August, will star Norbert Leo Butz as Edward Bloom, and have its pre-Broadway world premiere at Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 West Randolph Street) in a limited 5-week engagement beginning performances Tuesday, April 2, 2013, opening Sunday, April 21, 2013, and playing through Sunday, May 5, 2013. Tickets on sale Monday, February 4, 2013.

The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will make its Providence premiere January 15 - 20, 2013 at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) as part of theTaco/The White Family Foundation Broadway Series.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater from tonight, December 18, 2012 to January 6, 2013. The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical inspired by the electrifying true story of four Rock ‘n' Roll icons is directed by Eric Schaeffer and features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. Press opening night is Thursday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, the first national tour of the high-flying Broadway musical Catch Me If You Can will make a stop at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement tonight, December 18-23.

The Anarchist, the new play written and directed by DAVID MAMET, which began previews at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, and opened on Sunday, December 2, 2012, will give its final performance today, Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 3:00pm. Upon closing, the production will have played 23 previews and 17 performances.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical, the outrageously fun show about three friends on the roadtrip of a lifetime, will make its national tour debut at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre, January 8-13, 2013. Called a "rollicking crowd-pleaser in sequins" by Variety, this international hit with more than 500 2011 Tony Award-winning costumes features a parade of dance floor favorites including "It's Raining Men," "Finally" and "I Will Survive."
