The producers of the national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center announced today that single tickets will go on sale Thursday, June 26. Tickets will be available exclusively in person at the Fox Cities P.A.C. ticket office beginning at 8 a.m. Ticketmaster phone at (800) 982-2787 and Ticketmaster.com sales will begin at 12 p.m. There is a four ticket limit per household. Group orders of 15 or more may be placed now by calling (920) 730-3786. THE BOOK OF MORMON runs September 16-21, 2014.
Broadway's Original PIPPIN Joins the Tony-Winning Cast a Day Early

Tony Award winner John Rubinstein, who made his Broadway debut and received a Theater World Award for creating the title role in the original 1972 production of Pippin, will join the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Charles.' Mr. Rubinstein will play a limited engagement. He was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, but instead, he will start tonight, June 19, and run until Sunday, July 27, 2014 He is filling in for Terrance Mann's leave of absence. Pippin is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Broadway's biggest blockbuster, WICKED, flew out of the Orpheum Theater on Sunday, May 25, after a third engagement presented in association with Omaha Performing Arts and Broadway Across America. The phenomenon returned after record-breaking runs in 2009 and 2011 and made a significant impact on the local economy by generating $15.5 million in economic benefit to Omaha. Travel, hotels, restaurants, parking and other businesses patronized by theatergoers, WICKED cast members and production staff all benefited from the three-week 24-performance engagement leaving a very positive impression on the citizens of Omaha.

Disney Theatrical Productions, Broadway Across America, and CAPA today announced that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's The Lion King will go on sale to the public on Thursday, June 26, at 10am. Columbus' most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Ohio Theatre stage on Tuesday, October 14, for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, November 9, 2014. The show's six-week premiere engagement in 2004 played a sold-out run at the Ohio Theatre.

On the heels of Memorial Day, Broadway Across America - Houston is presenting the First US National Tour of the acclaimed play WAR HORSE. The visually spectacular production first premiered on London's Off-West End in the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre. It transferred to the West End's New London Theatre, where it is still running. It enjoyed Broadway success at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at New York City's Lincoln Center. It has since been produced in Canada, Australia, and Germany. After seeing this tour, it is no surprise that everywhere the play goes, it leaves tear-soaked audiences speechless and amazed.

In just a couple of weeks, Broadway Across America will be bringing in the First National Tour of the five-time Tony award winning production of WAR HORSE, a play adapted by Nick Stafford in association with Handspring Puppet Company that is based on the Michael Murporgo book of the same title. Set against the backdrop of World War One, this production tells the imaginative and emotional tale of a farm boy named Albert and his love for his horse, Joey. With breathtaking life-size puppets, stirring music, and storytelling at its finest, the First National Tour of WAR HORSE is sure to be an unforgettable theatergoing experience for Houston audiences. I was lucky enough to catch up with Nick LaMedica, a puppeteer for this production, who took some time out of his busy schedule to give Houston audiences an inside look at all of the rigorous training it takes to bring the horse to life onstage and to let us know why we don't want to miss WAR HORSE.
