2009 River To River Festival - Brian Stokes Mitchell Summer Concert held Wednesday, June 1, 2009 7:00 pm at Rockefeller Park (North end of Battery Park City, at the corners of River Terrace and Warren St.)

Broadway legend Barbara Cook will return to the New York Philharmonic - Saturday, May 30 at 8:00 p.m. - with the Philharmonic conducted by her acclaimed music director, Lee Musiker

Katie Holmes, Diane Weist, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laurence Fishburne will be featured in the annual National Day Memorial Concert, broadcast live from the Nation's Capital. The special will air on PBS stations around the country May 24 beginning at 8 PM ET.

Appearing in her only Australian performances, musical theatre legend Bernadette Peters will headline the festival, performing in the Festival Theatre on 6 and 7 June.

Broadway legend Barbara Cook will return to the New York Philharmonic for a one-night-only performance Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m., conducted by her acclaimed music director, Lee Musiker. Ms. Cook plans to bring to the Avery Fisher Hall stage songs she has never before performed with the New York Philharmonic, such as Stephen Sondheim's 'Send in the Clowns' from A Little Night Music, selections from Meredith Wilson?s The Music Man, and Sondheim?s ?No One Is Alone? from Into the Woods.

Might Jessical Biel be headed to a New York stage? The actress, soon appearing at the Hollywood Bowl in a concert version of 'GUYS AND DOLLS', indicated her interest in a recent interview with People Magazine.

On Memorial Day weekend, PBS will unite our nation with an evening that has become an American tradition. The multi award-winning National Memorial Day Concert honors the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, their families at home and all those who have given their lives for our country.

As an annual gift to the city, Symphony Space has been presenting its signature music marathons since it opened in 1978. This year Symphony Space samples some of the greatest music from the Great White Way for Wall to Wall Broadway: A Century of Musicals, a twelve-hour celebration of the music of Broadway on May 16 from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m., FREE.

Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Terrence McNally's RAGTIME, which is selling out at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. is looking to bring it's 'new music' to Broadway, reports The Washington Post. While there is no official word or comment, sources told the paper that there are reportedly 'serious negotiations for a move to Broadway.'

WENN reports that big screen star Jessica Biel is hard at work taking 'secret' singing lessons so she can hit those high notes in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of beloved musical 'GUYS AND DOLLS' this summer.

Reprise Theatre Company presents Brian Stokes Mitchell Sings Broadway, a program especially created for Reprise. It will have one performance only on Monday, May 11 at 8 pm, at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

New Outstanding Production Extended to May 17, 2009

Beau Bridges, one of America's best-known actors, joins Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jessica Biel, Scott Bakula, and Ellen Greene in Guys and Dolls in concert at the Hollywood Bowl. There will be three performances only, Friday and Saturday July 31 and August 1 at 8:30 pm and Sunday, August 2 at 7:30 pm. Bridges will play Arvide Abernathy, and sings 'More I Cannot Wish You,' an audience favorite from the Frank Loesser score, which includes some of the most popular songs of the era including 'I'll Know,' 'A Bushel and Peck,' 'If I Were A Bell,' 'Guys and Dolls,' and 'Luck Be a Lady.'

On Monday, April 27, at 7:00pm in Carnegie Hall, The New York Pops honored Feinstein's at Loews Regency on its tenth anniversary and congratulates Michael Feinstein and Jonathan Tisch for leading this great New York institution.

The luncheon also featured a sneak-preview of the 2009-2010 RRA-Broadway Across America Miami season, which will feature The Color Purple, October 27-November 1, 2009; 101 Dalmatians, December 30, 2009-January 3, 2010; Wicked, March 3-21, 2010; Mamma Mia!, March 30-April 4, 2010; and Spring Awakenings, May 11-16, 2010. In addition to these hit musicals, the season will also include The Walworth Farce (November 4-7, 2009) and a performance by Broadway icon Brian Stokes Mitchell (December 12, 2009).

On Tuesday, April 28th, WNYC Radio will open the doors of its new street-level public space, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. WYNC will host a 10-day festival to celebrate the new facility. Special Guests for the celebration will include Brian Stokes Mitchell, Liz Calloway, Rosie Perez, Peter Gerety, Jill Clayburgh, David Rabe, Ayodele Casel, Paul Krugman, Lou Reed, Ira Glass, Jason Moran, Cornel West, ETHEL String Quartet, Joy Behar, Richard Goode, Sonia Sanchez, Simone Dinnerstein, and ELMO, among others.

Passing It On: An evening of star performances to benefit Rosie's Broadway Kids Rosie's Broadway Kids has enlisted the help of some of Broadway's legends (including Chita Rivera and Brian Stokes Mitchell) to mentor our kids on classic performances from the Great White Way.
