Marc Kudisch & Kerry O'Malley to Lead Commonwealth Shakespeare & Landmarks' KISS ME KATE Concert at DCR's Hatch Shell, 8/21

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Boston Landmarks Orchestra will present a concert version of Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate with Broadway's Marc Kudisch* as Fred Graham/Patruchio and Kerry O'Malley* as Lilli Vanessi/Katherine. Steven Maler, Founding Artistic Director of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Associate Artistic Director, Adam Sanders, will direct with Boston Landmark Orchestra's Music Director Christopher Wilkins, conducting. The free event will be held on Thursday August 21st at 7:00PM at DCR's Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. Security entrances will open to the public at 5 pm. Arts Centre Melbourne presents a one-of-a-kind exhibition celebrating the links between traditional performance and contemporary art from the Torres Strait. Performative Prints from the Torres Strait will showcase dynamic and theatrical works by Alick Tipoti, Brian Robinson and Ricardo Idagi, three prominent Torres Strait Islander artists who have found inspiration from their rich cultural heritage. Staged in Arts Centre Melbourne's Gallery 1 from today, 23 March 2013 until Sunday 23 June 2013, Performative Prints from the Torres Strait presents a new way to experience indigenous art and culture.

The Boston Midsummer Opera has just announced that it will present TROUBLE AND CHOCOLATE, pairing Leonard Bernstein's one-act opera TROUBLE IN TAHITI with Lee Hoiby's BON APPETIT!, a musical transcription of one of Julia Child's shows starring Tony Award®-winning Broadway veteran Judy Kaye. The productions will be presented on July 28 and 30 and August 1, 2010.
