In fact, there's another production of the show opening at Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts this weekend and Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre in Nashville has announced the show as its holiday offering in 2019.

The first half of October brings a whirlwind of entertainment options to the corner of Franklin and First in Historic Downtown Clarksville.  With a trio of live theatre offerings ranging from a provocative 9/11-themed drama to a cabaret to a family-friendly swashbuckling musical adventure, the Roxy Regional Theatre has a little something for everyone this month.

Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre transports audiences back to Baltimore - the capital of big hair and the city of big dreams - in 1962 with their production of Hairspray, now onstage through September 29. This weekend (which features the company's annual fundraising gala on Saturday night) kicks off the second weekend of the show's multi-week run in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Clarksville's oldest professional theatre enters Season 36 of live entertainment on the corner of Franklin and First in Historic Downtown Clarksville with a Tony Award-winning family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs.

Come one! Come all! We'll make it a ball! There's a Cat with a Hat and Who Named Cindy Lou! 'Seussical' is a fantastical family musical based on the books of Dr.Seuss. Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude Mcfuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and Jojo-a little boy with a big imagination, are brought to life by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

George Bailey's story is a universal one, so much so that some 70 years after the film treatment of It's A Wonderful Life debuted, the tale of an upstanding citizen faced with failure and ruin, has become one of the most beloved holiday-season tales of all time. But the initial reaction of movie-goers to the film, although not nearly so dire as some cinema historians would have you believe, is considered one of the best-reviewed movies of all time.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's iconic 1949 musical about life, romance and hardships during World War II, which broached serious and controversial social issues still being dealt with in the 21st century South Pacific debuts at The Larry Keeton Theatre in Donelson for an October 12-28 run.
