From Here to Eternity Falls Short in New Musical Version

The Ogunquit Playhouse is honored to be part of the North American rollout of the new musical From Here to Eternity, on stage now through October 29. The musical is based on the acclaimed novel (which also became a multi-Academy Award-winning film), by James Jones with lyrics by Tim Rice, book by Donald Riceand Bill Oakes and music by Stuart Brayson. The early success of Disney on Broadway led other successful entertainment companies to believe that conquering the Great White Way possibly was not that hard. A spokesperson for Cirque confirmed that former head Scott Zeiger is no longer with the company.

Playwright Tom Jones is making some changes to his 57-year-old musical THE FANTASTICKS. Mr. Jones has done a little bit of rewriting of the musical number "Round and Round" which he has always felt never quite conveyed the darker elements he intended.

Off Broadway's longest running musical, The Fantasticks will celebrate its 57th Anniversary on Wednesday, May 3rd at 7PM.

The Fantasticks has a new El Gallo and Luisa! Bradley Dean has taken on the role of the suave narrator and Emily Behny has taken on the role of the girl.
