Oh myyyyyyyyy....the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra announced today that George Takei, who first came to fame as Mr. Sulu on the original 'Star Trek' television show, will host the PNC Pops concert 'Sci-Fi Spectacular' this weekend, Nov. 14-16 at Heinz Hall.

Heading into the annual SXSW festival, Starz Digital Media has snagged the rights to the film, To Be Takei. The documentary about pop-culture icon George Takei premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival and was directed by Jennifer M. Kroot (It Came from Kuchar). The company has acquired all rights for U.S. and Canada. The company will distribute with a theatrical release planned for 2014. The announcement was made today by Kevin Kasha, Head of Acquisitions for Starz.

Actor, activist, and social media icon George Takei publishes his newest book, Lions and Tigers and Bears (The Internet Strikes Back), the much anticipated follow up to his best-selling book, Oh Myyy (There Goes the Internet).

Hosted by George Takei and led by Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) presents Sci-Fi Spectacular!, Thursday, February 20 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, and Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22 at 8p.m. and Sunday, February 23 at 3p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

The Old Globe presents the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical, an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II.
