Jackalope Theatre Company, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, presents the world premiere of THE CASUALS, co-written by Chance Bone and Andrew Swanson and directed by Jonathan Berry, playing July 7 - 28, 2013 at The Storefront Theater.

Jackalope Theatre Company, the Edgewater based group which cultivates theatre that manifests the adventure deeply rooted in the American mythos, announces their new storefront home - The Frontier, new company members, and their lineup of summer programming, including the world premiere of THE CASUALS, a remount of LONG WAY GO DOWN and the 4th ANNUAL LIVING NEWSPAPERS FESTIVAL.

Next Theatre Company is proud to announce a two-week extension of Jonathan Safran Foer's Everything is Illuminated, adapted by Simon Block and directed by Devon de Mayo, at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. The production's final performance is now Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m.

Since 2000, the Studio Theatre has hosted the Louise Heck-Rabi Dramatic Playwriting One Act Festival, encouraging young playwrights to submit their original works. Each year, 6-7 semi-finalists are chosen out of all submissions. The plays are then read at a Workshop, where they are critiqued by judges. Three finalists win a scholarship as well as the opportunity to produce their play in front of a live audience. Each winning playwright has a chance to work with a student director and student performers to realize their productions on the stage.

Previews are Thursday, Feb, 21 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb.22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. Opening night is Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There are Saturday 4 p.m. performances March 9, 16, 23 and 30. The 8th annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert will launch a special partnership with DJ AM Memorial Fund and honors Jerry Cantrell and Neil Lasher, with performances by Alice In Chains, Billy Idol And His Band, Heart, Mark Lanegan, and Duff McKagan's Loaded, all to raise funds for MusiCares' addiction recovery services. Steve-O will host, and Moby will DJ at the live benefit concert tonight, May 31.
