Tale of Irish revolution turned to pretty funny cornpone comedy

The Deborah Zall Project will present a program of works by legendary modern dance choreographers Jane Dudley, Sophie Maslow and Anna Sokolow, along with dances by Deborah Zall, May 12 & 13 at 8 PM at the Martha Graham Studio Theater, 55 Bethune St. 

AutFest, the first film festival celebrating autism awareness 'from spectrum to screen,' today announced the addition of six short films to its first annual film festival on Saturday, April 22 - Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the AMC Orange 30 in Orange, CA.

ABC has pulled its new time travel drama TIME AFTER TIME from its schedule, effectively cancelling the series. The show becomes the second scripted, freshman series to be pulled from the air this season.

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

At an announcement party held today, Artistic Director Ray Jivoff unveiled Skylight Music Theatre's 2017-18 Season line-up of 'firsts' -- five shows that have never been produced at Skylight. 

In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful, young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above.  Once she encounters Prince Eric, she strikes a bargain with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs.  But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order in the ocean's depths.

AnthonyKen LLC will present their two hit biographical musicals MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL and AN EVENING WITH PHYLLIS HYMAN together for one weekend only at The Gramercy Theater (127 East 23rd Street) this May.

Dallas, summer 1942: Two seemingly ordinary women, Willa Dee and her cousin Emily await the mail.  National Geographic is doing a pictorial about American enlisted men training in the Bahamas, and they've gotten word that their husbands are featured in the photos.  The arrival of the magazine and the viewing of the photographs open up a Pandora's tinder box of memories, revelations and family secrets. 

Nathan Lucrezio, currently in the cast of Broadway's Aladdin, recently posted a YouTube video in which he mashed up some of his favorite songs. 'Waving Through a Window' from Dear Evan Hansen is at the spine of the mashup, which also includes 'Ordinary Girl' and 'A Thousand Miles' both by Vanessa Carlton, 'No Day But Today' from Rent, and 'Just Another Day' from Next to Normal. Lucrezio called upon some of his friends, Caroline Bowman (Wicked), Samantha Massell (Fiddler On the Roof), Trent Saunders (Aladdin), and Angelo Soriano (Aladdin) to create the video.
