On Tuesday, April 5th, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) presented 'An Evening with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis,' author of the hit Broadway play The Motherf***er with the Hat, which featured a reading of excerpts from several of his plays, a discussion, and signing of his newly published play, Between Riverside and Crazy, for which he received the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, at the Drama Book Shop in New York, now celebrating its 99th year. Just last night, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage & screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams.

Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, nationally renowned theater company, will stage a reading of Company Member Jonathan Marc Sherman's adaptation of The Cherry Orchard, Texas Red on April 24, benefiting the Company's new play development programs. This one-night-only event will feature Labyrinth Company Members Bobby Cannavale, Chris Chalk, Ethan Hawke, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Portia, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Yul Vazquez and guest artists Paul Dano, Peter Dinklage, Maya Hawke, Zoe Kazan, and Laura Linney. The level of my fandom for Chris Rock is worthy of the term fanatic to say the least and I SWEAR it's not because of our mutual obsession with the New York Mets. It runs deep, is what I'm saying. I fall asleep to his standup specials and annoy my friends by sending memes of his timeless quotes. I will not apologize as his voice is one of the greats of our generation.
HBO Renews VINYL for Second Season

Following the critically acclaimed launch of the show's first season, HBO has renewed the drama series VINYL for a second season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Created by Mick Jagger & Martin Scorsese & Rich Cohen and Terence Winter, the show is a ride through the sex- and drug-addled music business of the early 1970s at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop.
