New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced that its 2014 Spring Gala will honor Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff and President of The Dodgers Michael David. Both are founding partners of Dodger Properties, which is responsible for over 150 productions of some of the most successful theatre on Broadway (56 Tony Awards), Off-Broadway and internationally. The gala will take place on Monday, May 12 at The Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel, beginning at 6:30pm.

Tony Award winning composers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can) have signed with CAA.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced Circle Circle dot dot (CCdd) as its 2014/2015 resident theatre company. Spearheaded by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, the Resident Theatre Program aims to encourage the artistic development of performing arts organizations, while advancing and contributing to the San Diego theatre scene as a whole. The program provides a temporary home each year to one of the many local companies without a permanent venue.

Eligibility and award category designations for the productions under consideration this season were determined by the Drama Desk board of directors with recommendations from the nominating committee. WNET, parent company of New York's public television stations THIRTEEN and WLIW21 and operator of NJTV, announced the appointment of Michael Kantor as executive producer of its American Masters series.

According to Page Six, Billy Crystal plans on bringing back some of his favorite SNL characters for his new Fox show called The Comedians. Josh Gad will be co-starring with Crystal and the show is set to premiere in 2015.
