Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts announces the start of its 2015 series BACH, REVISITED. The "enticing," "alluring," and "intriguing" (The New York Times) series returns, pairing contemporary composers with Bach.

Today, at a press conference in Edinburgh, Director Jonathan Mills revealed the artists, companies and work from around the world which will fill the stages of Edinburgh's annual cultural celebration. Over 2,400 artists from 43 nations have been invited to Edinburgh to perform in the annual showcase of the world's great performing artists.

A cover tune can be an homage to the original, but these "uncovers," in new arrangements by Evan Ziporyn, attempt to do more - to evoke the unprecedented power of the music of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Janis Joplin, Howlin' Wolf, King Crimson, Muddy Waters, and AC/DC as musical masterpieces and as totems of our collective consciousness.

He has written pieces for world-renowned ensembles including Kronos Quartet, The Silk Road Ensemble, Bang on a Can All-Stars, So Percussion and eighth blackbird, and his compositions have been performed at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall and Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, among other prestigious venues worldwide. Cantaloupe Music will release Adventureland, Kotche's first solo album since 2006's Mobile (Nonesuch Records) and the first album of his compositions for ensembles, today, March 25.
