YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA (James Bundy, Dean; Victoria Nolan, Deputy Dean) presents The Fourth Annual Carlotta Festival of New Plays, May 8 to 17 at the New Theater, 1156 Chapel Street, New Haven. The Festival is comprised of three fully-produced plays by graduating playwrights performed in repertory with twelve performances over 10 days.
Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music will host its annual Big Band Extravaganza, featuring IU jazzmen David N. Baker and Brent Wallarab, Saturday, April 25, at 8 p.m. in the Musical Arts Center.
Portland Center Stage presents Frost/Nixon, the play that became the Oscar-nominated film, about the conversation between David Frost and Richard Nixon that irrevocably changed the media's relationship to the American presidency. Frost/Nixon previews on Tuesday April 14th, opens on Friday, April 17th and runs through May 10th, 2009. Tickets range from $30.00 to $66.50, with student and under 30 discounts available. JUDY CARMICHAEL, the internationally-acclaimed Grammy Award nominated stride pianist, radio host and author called 'a major figure in keyboard jazz performance' by the San Francisco Examiner, will release her new CD 'Come And Get It' on April 14.
