Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo to Star in New ABC Sitcom?

A new sitcom starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo might be headed to ABC in the near future. According to PerezHilton.com, this sitcom (previously mentioned on BWW) now has a script commitment from ABC network and ABC Studios for such a show with the National Lampoon's Vacation stars attached. With a script by Brad Copeland, the show is from producer Aaron Kaplan. The unnamed work centers around Chase and D'Angelo as a married couple who suddenly have the task of raising their grandchildren by themselves.

Directed by Adam Shankman and featuring a talented, impossibly photogenic cast that includes Kristen Bell, Hunter Parrish, Benjamin Walker, Amber Riley, Mario, Jenna Ushkowitz and Jonah Platt, the Hollywood Bowl production of the 60's hippie-centric HAIR is lively and unabashedly joyful to the core. Author Del Shores to Appear at Clear Space Theatre, 9/5-6

The Clear Space Theatre Company of Rehoboth Beach has announced that author Del Shores - creator of their summer hit, SORDID LIVES and frequently called 'the grand master of Southern lowlife sensibilities' - will be appearing at the theatre Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6. Mr. Shores' appearance is sponsored by Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center.

Hank Azaria to Host LA Phil's THE SIMPSONS TAKE THE BOWL!, 9/12-14

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, in conjunction with Gracie Films, presents the world premiere of The Simpsons Take the Bowl! on Friday and Saturday, September 12 and 13, at 8:00 PM and Sunday, September 14, at 7:30 PM at the Hollywood Bowl. The event, hosted by Hank Azaria, will feature special guest appearances by Nancy Cartwright, Beverly D'Angelo, Jon Lovitz, Yeardley Smith, 'Weird Al' Yankovic, and Matt Groening, with more to be announced.

Casting has been completed for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of HAIR, the American Tribal Love-Rock musical, which won the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best revival of a musical in 2009. The additional cast members announced are Sarah Hyland as Chrissy, Mario as Hud, Jonah Platt as Woof, Benjamin Walker as Berger, and Kevin Chamberlin as Dad.

Burt Reynolds to Direct Lee Marlow in A PROPERTY KNOWN AS GARLAND, 6/10

On Tuesday evening, June 10, the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre will present a preview of The Property Known as Garland starring Lee Marlow and directed by legendary film actor Burt Reynolds at the Lake Park Mirror Ballroom. The show, which is being performed on Judy Garland's birthday, begins at 8:00 pm. The proceeds will benefit the Burt Reynolds Institute Building Fund. Tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 561 743-9955. Seating is limited.

With book/lyrics by Bruce Joel and music/lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, Ghost's musical score includes the ever-popular 'Unchained Melody' and is bound to be an audience grabber.

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures to Present INHERIT THE WIND, 2/8-3/16

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures will present one of the great American plays of the 20th century, INHERIT THE WIND, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, directed by the award-winning Kiff Scholl, produced by Racquel Lehrman/Theatre Planners. In a small town courtroom and with the eyes of the nation upon them, two legal giants face off over a teacher's right to teach evolution to a high school class in this critically acclaimed drama based on the Scopes Monkey Trial. As rousing and relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1955, INHERIT THE WIND is an edge-of-your-seat riveting look at the age-old conflict between science and religion. The play opens Friday, February 8th and runs through March 16th at the Grove Theatre Center in Burbank, CA.
