On Monday, April 9, Roundabout Theatre Company's Roundabout Underground playwriting alumni will gather to present The 24 Hour Plays Off-Broadway. Six playwrights, six directors, 24 actors and a musical guest will perform six brand new short plays written & rehearsed over the course of a single day. The performance will begin at 8:00pm at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).

SAG Award nominee Betty Gilpin (GLOW, Masters of Sex, Nurse Jackie) will join Vitalie Taittinger, Global Spokesperson and Artistic Director for Champagne Taittinger, for a toast that will open the red carpet for the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Jan. 21.

Nominations for THE CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS were announced today. Fox Searchlight's THE SHAPE OF WATER leads the pack with a whopping 14 nominations. Best Picture and Director contenders included DUNKIRK, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, LADY BIRD and THE POST, each with eight nominations.

Fresh off of his Broadway return leading the feel-good musical HOLIDAY INN at Roundabout's Studio 54, Tony-nominee Bryce Pinkham describes his next role as 'wildly quirky,' 'an iron fist in a velvet glove,' and possessing 'a certain verbal flair.' Beginning this Sunday, January 22nd, Pinkham joins PBS's Civil War medical drama, MERCY STREET, as Major Clayton McBurney III, the new head of the hospital at Mansion House.

SPACE on Ryder Farm, a non-profit artist residency program located an hour north of New York City, is hosting their first annual Farm in the City gala. I cannot remember when a play has touched me as strongly as the West Coast premiere of Barcelona by Bess Wohl, currently onstage at the Geffen through March 5. From the moment I entered the Gil Cates Theater and looked onstage at the attic apartment in Barcelona, with its dark, haunting, discombobulated appearance, I was thrillingly manipulated to examine it more fully... and I couldn't wait for the action of the play to begin. When it did, on the darkly lit set, two people (Carlos Leal, Betty Gilpin) entered the room fumbling to get each.
