In the 12-time Tony nominated musical Fun Home, a college-age Allison, played onstage by Emily Skeggs, sings 'Changing My Major'- a song about her new romance with 'Joan.' Based on the graphic memoir of the same name by Allison Bechdel, the musical is based on her youth, and 'Joan' indeed was a real part of her time at Oberlin College.

Symphony Space's 2015 gala celebrated Broadway impresario Harold Prince with a star-studded musical tribute to the legendary 21 time Tony Award-winning producer/director on May 18, at Capitale. Danny Burstein hosted the evening, which featured performances by Kate Baldwin, Sierra Boggess, Santino Fontana, Jeremy Jordan, Ramin Karimloo, Norm Lewis,Rebecca Luker, Laura Osnes, and Chita Rivera. Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman have announced that the coast-to-coast North American Tour of Fun Home, the twelve-time Tony Award nominated American musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel of the same name, will begin in the 2016 - 2017 Season.

Fun Home, the Award-winning new musical, has released an updated and expanded Broadway version of the cast recording today on PS Classics.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, just honored Tony Award winning actor and Chairman of the Board of The Actors Fund, Brian Stokes Mitchell with their 2015 Distinguished Achievement Award at its 66th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. The event featured musical performances from some of Mitchell's most memorable shows by Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams (King Hedley II, Hallelujah Baby), Nicolette Robinson (Brooklynite, TV's 'The Affair,' 'Hart of Dixie') and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Hamilton, NBC's 'Smash'), and Tony nominated Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q, Carnival at City Center Encores!). The organization's 32nd season will be extended by two weeks this summer.  The Hurst Theatre opens with the groundbreaking revival version of the musical CABARET, running in repertory with Other Desert Cities, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Junie B. Jones The Musical.  Following the regular season, the theatre recently announced the launch of the Aspen Theatre Festival, featuring new plays and musicals being developed for the stage.  The festival takes place the week of August 23rd - 28th.

Today we are analyzing the absolute biggest battles at this year's hotly anticipated Tony Awards, shedding a light on the most epic battle royales of the night with legendary leading ladies squaring off, British blockbusters battling it out with homegrown American fare, one of the fiercest Best Musical match-ups in history and some of the toughest revival competition in recent memory, as well. Of course, the Tony Awards will be broadcast on CBS on June 7, but for the next month we all wait with tongues wagging to see who will come out on top on Broadway's biggest and brightest night - before the eyes of all of America, no less.

Producers Fox Theatricals (Kristin Caskey, Mike Isaacson) and Barbara Whitman are pleased to announce that Fun Home, the Award-winning American musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel of the same name, took in $392,450.00 at the box office Tuesday, April 28, in the wake of the show's twelve Tony nominations, making it the highest wrapping day of a musical in the history of the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street).
