David Ives's Adaptation of Corneille's THE LIAR Opens 2/1 at Shakespeare & Company

Following last winter's wildly successful run of Molière's The Learned Ladies, a hilarious French farce will once again heat up the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre in February and March at Shakespeare & Company. This year, a talented ensemble of Company artists will take on award-winning playwright David Ives's (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) razor sharp and rib-tickling adaptation of Pierre Corneille's classic farce, The Liar, running from February 1 through March 24. The production is directed by founding member Kevin G. Coleman, the critically acclaimed director of The Memory of Water (2011) and The Winter's Tale (2010), among many others.

Producers Bob Boyett and The National Theatre of Great Britain present the Denver engagement of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, War Horse. The company, comprised of more than 30 performers, includes Andrew Veenstra as Albert Narracott, Brian Keane as Arthur Narracott, Michael Wyatt Cox as Billy Narracott, Todd Cerveris as Ted Narracott, Colorado native Angela Reed as Rose Narracott, Jason Loughlin as Lieutenant James Nicholls, Jason Alan Carvell as Private Schnabel and Colorado native Mat Hostetler as Veterinary Officer Martin. First Folio Theatre Presents JEEVES TAKES A BOW, 1/30-3/3

First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83) presents the witty comedy JEEVES TAKES A BOW, previewing January 30; opening Saturday, February 2 at 8 p.m.; and running through March 3. Directed by Jeff Award nominee Alison C. Vesely (First Folio's A Moon for the Misbegotten), the cast of First Folio's 2009 production Jeeves in Bloom will reprise their roles in JEEVES TAKES A BOW, starring Jim McCance as "Jeeves" and Christian Gray (The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe and Romeo & Juliet at First Folio Theatre, The Glass Menagerie at Oak Park Festival Theatre) as "Bertie."

It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger(Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, 'Big Love'). Peter Parker died in the 700th and final issue of 'The Amazing Spider-Man,' and in the video below, the cast tributes the character along with a slew of other stars. Check it out below!

The New Hampshire Theatre Awards Announces Professional Nominees for 2012

The nominations are out for the 11th Annual New Hampshire Theatre Awards. Like Broadway has the Tony Awards, NH has the NHTA's. Those awards will be handed out on Saturday January 26th at the Stockbridge Theatre on the campus of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire. The award ceremony begins at 7pm.

KINKY BOOTS Pushes Broadway Previews to 3/3

According to the show's official website, the new musical Kinky Boots, from four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book), Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Director & Choreographer), will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on March 3 instead of the previously announced March 5. Opening night remains set for Thursday, April 4, 2013.
