Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots will celebrate its landmark 1000th performance on Broadway on Wednesday, August 26th with a ticket giveaway and "fabulous footwear" contest for fans.

Gritty, passionate, funny and heartbreaking, Awake and Sing! by Clifford Odets continues to resonate 80 years after its 1935 premiere by the Group Theatre. Director Elina de Santos and lead actress Marilyn Fox return to the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble with a 20th anniversary revival of the smash Odyssey production that ran for nine months in 1994-95. Also returning from that production are Richard Fancy and Dennis Madden; the three will be joined onstage by David Agranov, Robert Lesser, Allan Miller, James Morosini, Melissa Paladino and Gary Patent. Awake and Sing! opens at the Odyssey Theatre on Sept. 26.

SCHOOLED runs from tonight, August 15, through August 27, 2015 at The Robert Moss Theater (Venue #15), located at 440 Lafayette Street between Astor Place and East 4th St., across the street from The Public Theater in New York City. InVersion Theatre is excited to announce IN THE WOODS WE RETURN, presented in August 2015 as a part of FringeNYC.

Kate Mulgrew and Anne-Cecilie Engell Speyer will host Vineyard Theatre's Annual Emerging Artists Luncheon on Wednesday, September 30 from noon-2pm at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. Chaired by members of the Vineyard Council, the event will feature the presentation of the 2015 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award to Boo Killebrew (MILLER, MISSISSIPPI). Clare Barron (YOU GOT OLDER), Vineyard's 2014 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award winner, will also be recognized at the luncheon.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award nominee Wayne Brady will take over the coveted role of 'Lola' in the Tony Award®-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on November 21, 2015. Brady will succeed Broadway's original (and current) award-winning 'Lola,' Billy Porter. Porter has played over 800 performances in the role and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in the production. His final historic performance in Kinky Boots will be November 20, 2015.

Truckin' on to the Barn Theatre stage is Rex Smith starring in HANDS ON A HARDBODY! Playing tonight, August 11, through August 23.

Green Spark Productions presents the world premiere of Here We Dance, a devised immersive theatrical fairytale party directed by S. Dylan Zwickel featuring live music by The Rooks and inspired by the Grimm's fairytale The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

Helly my Broadway World Minneapolis friends. I know it's been a while since I've shared anything with you, but that's because I've been all-consumed by the 174-show 11-day festival that is the Minnesota Fringe.
