Today, October 8, 2015, WHITE WAVE Dance celebrates the 15th Anniversary season of the DUMBO Dance Festival (DDF) with a Gala Opening that heralds the most anticipated four-day festival of contemporary dance in New York. Committed to the future expressions of dance, WHITE WAVE scours the world seeking the most risk-taking emerging and renowned dance makers of our time and brings them to Brooklyn for one weekend.

Rock music, counter-culture, and the sexual revolution take center stage in HAIR, the first and most successful rock musical of all time, at Bainbridge Performing Arts this month. Featuring the iconic numbers Aquarius, Good Morning Starshine, I Believe in Love, Hair, I Got Life, What a Piece of Work Is Man, and Hippie Life, HAIR offers meaningful commentary on the generational divide of the Sixties, lending vitality and insights that remain relevant today. Pioneer Theatre Company reprises its successful concert series for a limited run. Richard O'Brien's raucous musical THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is being offered as a special event, for four performances only, in a script-in-hand, singing-and-dancing concert-style presentation on Thursday, October 22, at 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. andSaturday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Three Cat Productions celebrates Chicago based performers with Cabaret on the Lake. Cabaret on the Lake is a free, monthly variety show giving singers, storytellers, comedians, performance artists, musicians, dancers, poets, and solo artists of every type a place to develop their work. Held the 2nd Friday of the month at the Berger Park Cultural Center (6205 N Sheridan Road), experienced performers split the bill with artists learning their craft or trying new material for the first time. This month's event will be held on Friday, October 9 at 7:30pm. Tickets are free. Hosted by Rob Dorn - singer, storyteller, national Broadway musical theater tour veteran, and Green Mill regular.

The 20th anniversary revival of the Odyssey production of Clifford Odets' classic AWAKE AND SING! receives a raw and reverential mounting. As directed by Elina de Santos, most characters in this two-hour-and-fifteen-minute three-act portray their roles in bold black-and-whites with little shades of grey in between.

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Playwright, Bryan Delaney about 'The Seedbed' and his career. Directed by SuzAnne Barabas, 'The Seedbed' will be making its World Premiere on the New Jersey Repertory Stage from October 15th to November 15th.

New Line opens its 25th season with the regional premiere of the pitch-black musical comedy HEATHERS, written by the award-winning team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness) and Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde). This hilarious, big-hearted, and homicidal new musical is based on the 1989 cult film, truly one of the darkest teen comedies of all time. The original screenwriter Daniel Waters called it, "a Carson McCullers-style novel of a girl who meets the Antichrist as a teenager.'

Tonight, October 2, The Sherman Playhouse will premiere the outrageous cult musical comedy THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, with Book, Lyrics, and Music by Robert O'Brien. The curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. on a five-week run.

Next Thursday, October 8, 2015, "The 15th Annual DUMBO Dance Festival" explodes onto the stage of the Gelsey Kirkland ArtsCenter. For four nights and three days, lovers of dance will experience an Instagram of contemporary dance. The DUMBO Dance Festival is committed to the future expressions of dance by providing performance opportunities for 75 dance troupes from across America and the globe.

Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will kick off with a special benefit reading and party on Monday October 26th (7:30pm): George Etherege's The Man Of Mode, or, Sir Fopling Flutter, directed by Jesse Berger starring Michael Urie, along with Matthew Amendt, Suzanne Bertish, Angel Desai, Ryan Garbayo, Adam Green, Kathryn Meisle, Amelia Pedlow, Everett Quinton, Reg Rogers, Liv Rooth, Mary Testa, Marc Vietor, Spiff Weigand, and more. The Man of Mode will feature live music by Scott Killian. Libertine or liberator? London's leading rake wreaks hilarious havoc on high society in this - the original Restoration Comedy - with help from Sir Fopling Flutter, the first and greatest of the Restoration fops. An exclusive party with cast and special guests including Chukwudi Iwuji, Miriam Silverman, Matthew Rauch, and Laila Robins, among others, follows the benefit reading.

South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization located in Camden, New Jersey opens its 11th season and second decade of theatre in the city with a three week production and regional premier of CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO.  Opening October 16, 2015 at 8p.m. the play is written by Robert Berger, Patrick Daniels and Irving Gregory and directed by Joseph M. Paprzycki. CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO (CVR) is a Drama Desk award-winning theatrical documentary based on verbatim transcripts from six real aviation accidents and emergencies as recorded in each flight's "Black Box" Cockpit Voice Recorders.

City College Center for the Arts and Clark Center NYC join together in celebration of The Clark Center for the Performing Arts with a presentation of the acclaimed dance/narrative series From the Horse's Mouth on Thursday, October 1 and Friday October 2 at Aaron Davis Hall. The From the Horse's Mouth production will serve as the culmination of Clark Center NYC's weeklong residency at City College Center for the Arts, made possible, in part, by funding from the CUNY Dance Initiative. Performances of From the Horse's Mouth begin at 7pm. A reception will follow the October 1 performance.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," opens its 25th anniversary season of adult, alternative musical theatre in the brand new Marcelle Theater in Grand Center, with the regional premiere of the rock musical HEATHERS, running October 1-24, 2015.
