While nobody ever said musical theatre was easy – at least, nobody with any real knowledge of the art – you would think that in writing a musical about the first worldwide beloved figure of the 20th Century there wouldn't be too much trouble establishing empathy.  But the surprisingly dry and emotionless Chaplin, presented in a respectably strong Broadway production, tries to cram so many facts into its two acts that there's Little Room left for feeling.

The national tour of the five-time Tony Award®-nominated Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES, a feel-good love story told through '80s hit songs by iconic rockers and glam metal bands such as Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more, will make its Miami premiere October 9 - 14, 2012 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. ROCK OF AGES opens the Broadway in Miami 2012-2013 subscription season presented by Bank of America.

The show started previews at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street) on Thursday, September 13th, with an official opening night set for Thursday, October 4, 2012. Ford's Theatre presents the Washington premiere of "Fly," by Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan, directed by Ricardo Khan, September 21 through October 21, 2012. The centerpiece of this year's programming for The Lincoln Legacy Project, "Fly" is based on the experiences of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.
