A veteran cast will bring Neil Simon's classic 'The Sunshine Boys' to life at The Sauk, Hillsdale County's Community Theatre, through October 22.

Stage Door Theatre will present Neil Simon's classic comedy The Sunshine Boys in the popular venue's intimate Theatre 2, from August 18th through September 24th. 

The Sunshine Boys - Al Lewis and Willie Clark - were Vaudeville stars and partners for over forty years, but haven't spoken to one another for over eleven. When Willie's nephew Ben approaches his uncle about reuniting with his ex-partner to perform one of their classic skits on a CBS television special about the history of comedy, their eventual reunion is fraught with acrimony, argument, memories, and laughter.

During the late 1920s and into the 1940s, the United States went through the great depression. Unemployment in the U. S. rose to 25%. These were drab times and, as is the case, since the arts represent the era from which they come, the theatre of that time period represented two extremes: heavy drama reflecting the negative mood of the nation and escapism to make people feel better by hiding from their angst-filled reality.

Continuing the 43rd Season of Dunwoody's very own professional theatre, STAGE DOOR PLAYERS presents the return of the Suzi Bass Award winning holiday comedy, Let Nothing You Dismay by Atlanta's own Topher Payne. Shannon Eubanks directs. The show opens on Friday, December 2, and runs through Sunday, December 18. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm. Neil Simon has staked his claim as America's most prolific and popular dramatist and he certainly has made his mark on the CTC stage. Opening one week from today, THE SUNSHINE BOYS marks CTC's tenth production of a Neil Simon play including audience favorites THE ODD COUPLE, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, and most recently, PLAZA SUITE in 2012.
