On Tuesday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m., theCarnegie Hall Notables-a membership and ticket program for music enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s-presents yMusic in an exclusive concert in Zankel Hall for Notables members only featuring the acclaimed multi-instrumentalists (string trio, flute, clarinet, and trumpet) with special guest The Tallest Man on Earth. Following the concert, the Notables will gather in Carnegie Hall's Weill Terrace Room and Weill Music Room in the Resnick Education Wing for an after-party immediately following the performance with beer provided by Brooklyn Brewery, cocktails provided by The Balvenie, Hendrick's Gin, Milagro Tequila, Monkey Shoulder Whiskey, and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum.

For Nashville-based, Memphis-born Drew Holcomb, music is medicine, and it seems only fitting that along with his band The Neighbors—wife Ellie (vocals, guitar), Nathan Duggar (guitar, keys), and Rich Brinsfield (bass)—the group will celebrate a decade-long career with a tour in support of their new, full-length studio album, Medicine.

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Gardner will support his Warner Bros. Records label-mates Jr. Jr. at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, AZ, next Wednesday, October 14th. Gardner will hit the stage at 8 pm.

Tonight, October 6, Sara Bareilles and Ben Folds will fete the launch of Bareilles new book, SOUNDS LIKE ME: MY LIFE (SO FAR) IN SONG, a candid collection of essays in which the five-time Grammy-nominated artist explores her life in song, as part of BAM's 2015 UMBOUND lineup.

Waitress, a new musical, will open on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). Previews will begin on Friday, March 25, 2016. Waitress recently played a sold out limited engagement at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.

A radical new portrait of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been commissioned by Royal Northern Sinfonia, to reflect what they and their Music Director Lars Vogt see as the 'true' face of a composer we all think we know.  “Somehow we've come to think of his music as pretty, brilliant and maybe even a little two-dimensional,” says Vogt, lamenting what he calls the 'chocolate box' idea of Mozart, “But in fact the more you listen to him the more you realise that we've got him wrong. That music is often dramatic, daring, edgy and, yes, dark, and those qualities must have been there in the man.”

For the first time in what seems like forever, there is going to be a legitimate late-night war on network television. It won't be fueled by animosity between hosts (as evidenced by their locker room bromance), but instead by vastly different perspectives on what the job is and what it could be. Those who were worried that Stephen Colbert would just be adding another lilywhite male voice to the seemingly homogenous late-night landscape still have justifiable concerns, but at least this lilywhite male voice will be slightly more thoughtful and inquisitive than the others.

The University of Miami Frost School of Music, with presenting sponsor UHealth--University of Miami Health System, announces the lineup for its annual multi-genre music festival, FESTIVAL MIAMI, Florida's premier live music festival. San Francisco-based singer / songwriter Pete Kronowitt has released a video performance for his new politically charged song, 'Change is Gonna Come,' recorded live from the Cafe du Soleil in Lower Haight. The hopeful anthem was inspired both by the legends of American folk, as well as today's struggle for justice and equity. Pete co-wrote the song with Atlanta-based Chuck McDowell at a recent songwriting retreat in Crisfield, Maryland.

Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival 2015 presents Daddy's Boy, a world premiere play written by Cristian Avila where the wrestling ring becomes a battleground sexuality, family and identity. Avila directs a cast of eight, including David Conrad Brouillard, Julia Gyory, Aya Esther Hayashi, Jonathan Palmiotti, Christopher Staley*, Kyle Stockburger, Rachel Wharton, and Nick Zale. BroadwayWorld has just learned Waitress, a new musical, will open on Broadway as part of the current 2015-2016 season.  The production will open in April 2016, with previews beginning in March 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).  Waitress is currently playing at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, where it runs through September 27, 2015.

HELD MOMENTARILY -- the new musical featuring India Carney, the singer and actress who was a 2015 finalist on NBC-TV's 'The Voice' -- has extended its engagement at The New York Musical Theatre Festival. Scheduled to run July 20 to July 27, 2015, the production has added an additional performance on Tuesday, July 21 at 1:00 PM at PTC Performance Space (555 West 42nd Street in New York).
