Gideon Productions will present Advance Man, part one of Mac Rogers' (Universal Robots; Viral) sc-fi epic The Honeycomb Trilogy, January 12-29 as part of BFG Collective's six month long residency at The Secret Theatre (44 02 23rd Street, Long Island City).

Three of New York City's top indie theatre companies, Boomerang Theatre Company, Flux Theatre Ensemble, and Gideon Productions, have joined forces to form the BFG Collective, which will hold a six-month-long residency at Long Island City's The Secret Theatre.

Flux Theatre Ensemble will present the World Premiere of Erin Browne's (Narrator 1 at Theater Row; Trying at The Bushwick Starr) MENDERS, January 19-February 11 at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South).

Retro Productions' (Heather E. Cunningham, Artistic Director) revival of The Runner Stumbles by Milan Stitt opens November 8, 2011 at the Richmond Shepard Theater (309 East 26th Street). Peter Zinn directs.

On Monday September 19, 2011, the IT Awards (New York Innovative Theatre Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, and host comedian Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2011 recipients at the Seventh Annual IT Awards Ceremony at Cooper Union. This year's nominees represent 169 individual artists, 55 productions and 45 theatre companies. In 2011, the IT Awards had the most individual nominees than in any previous season with 169 nominees.

The New York Innovative Theatre Awards announced on Monday that Flux Theatre Ensemble is to be awarded this year's 2011 Caffé Cino Fellowship Award, presented annually to an Off-Off-Broadway theatre company that consistently produces outstanding work.

On Monday, August 1, 2011, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2011 nominees at its annual sold-out event at the Carmine Street Recreation Center located at 25 Carmine Street.

The Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director; Sue Abbott, Managing Director) kicked off their 2011 season with an outdoor production of Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing, directed by Daniel Talbott and starring Sara Thigpen and Nate Miller.
