The Chicago Park District's Theater on the Lake: The Chicago Summer Theater Festival turns 60 this year and is proud to announce the eight artistically diverse Chicago theater companies that will receive encore presentations from June 13 - Aug. 5, 2012. Each production will be performed for five evenings only at the theater at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive.

The Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Science and Technology Project awarded commission grants today for new plays to ten playwrights and two theatre companies to develop new works exploring science and technology.

Singer-songwriter Howard Fishman stars in a developmental reading of Dead Author Songs, at the 2012 Emerging Artists Theatre New Work series. Written by Zac Kline (Messed Up Here Tonight, Big Star California), directed by Christopher Carter Sanderson (founding artistic and producing director of New York's Gorilla Rep) and Produced by NYC's Missing Bolts Productions.

TOPHER GRACE and OLIVIA THIRLBY will co-star in Second Stage Theatre's production of Paul Weitz's world premiere comedy, LONELY, I'M NOT, directed by Trip Cullman. Preview performances are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 10 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street). The production will officially open on Monday, May 7. The Flea Theater has announced an extension of the New York Premiere of THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES, a 5-hour marathon of all seven of Sophocles' plays re-envisioned by playwright Sean Graney, directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar, and starring The Bats.

The 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards nominations were announced by Daniel Radcliffe and Holliday Grainger at BAFTA's headquarters in London. The Orange British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday, February 12th at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, London. This is the fifteenth year of Orange's sponsorship of the Film Awards. The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry.
