Scott Rudin and Barry Diller will present the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes Artistic Director) production of Stephen Karam's much-raved-about new play, The Humans, on Broadway this season, following its smash-hit Off-Broadway engagement. Directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and featuring its entire acclaimed current Off-Broadway cast, The Humans will begin performances at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street) on Saturday, January 23, 2016, and open officially on Thursday, February 18.

According to the New York Times, the proposal for the $170 million park, which would be built on a multilevel platform 186 feet off the shoreline of the Hudson River, includes 'a series of wooded nooks and three performance venues, including an amphitheater.' The park, which would be called Pier 55, would replace Pier 54, a flat 875-foot structure that has been gradually sinking into the river.

The American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO) Board of Directors appointed five new members today, which include Steven Kofsky, Matti Leshem, Michael Maling, Theodore N. Mirvis, and Julie Mitnick. The new board members were elected at a national board meeting that took place on October 21 at the Harmonie Club in Manhattan, New York. Their roles became effective immediately. These inductees join the organization at an exciting time, as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is growing its presence both in North America and around the globe.
