As previously announced, Beverley Knight is to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats to play the role of Grizabella.  Returning to the London Palladium from 23 October 2015, Lloyd Webber's acclaimed new production of Cats will run for a strictly limited 11 week season until 2 January 2016.   Check out the video below of Beverley Knight rehearsing and discussing her role as 'Grizabella.'

Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA has announced that cabaret star Roslyn Kind will join the critically acclaimed Broadway @ The Art House series for two shows only on July 31 and August 1 at 7:00 PM. The production is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander who has directed productions for Barbra Streisand (who is also Ms. Kind's big sister), as well as for Kristin Chenoweth, Il Divo, Bette Midler and Well-Strung. Liz Callaway's For the Record show last night at The Metropolitan Room was literally the live recording of songs in preparation for her upcoming autumn CD release, The Essential Liz Callaway, 'and another recording I have up my sleeve later.' Except for a pause between numbers, choices with seemingly little cohesive rhyme or reason were so fluently bridged by amiable, explanatory patter one might've thought this was a thematic show. The eminently likeable performer made us feel we were in her living room, while never letting down professional standards.

One of the New York nightclub and cabaret scene's most talented couple--Vocalist/Actress Nina Hennessey and Drummer Ray Marchica--have been booked by Birdland, New York's premier jazz club, for a special show on August 2 at 6 pm (doors open at 5 pm). Renowned recording artist Tony Bennet will perform for one night only at The Orpheum Theatre on Friday, December 18th at 8:00 PM. Last week, I selected ten top picks for a major headliner to star as Norma Desmond in a potential future stage and/or screen version of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and Christopher Hampton's Tony Award-winning Best Musical SUNSET BOULEVARD in honor of both the show's anniversary of its West End opening and recent news that Glenn Close is considering a return to her Tony-winning role in an upcoming revival.
