Sergio Trujillo Brings Underground World of Buenos Aires to A.R.T. in ARRABAL

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, will present Arrabal, with a book written by John Weidman, music by Gustavo Santaolalla / Bajofondo, choreographed by Julio Zurita, and directed and co-choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.

Photo Flash: First Look at NY Philharmonic Performing in London for EUROPE/SPRING 2017 TOUR

The New York Philharmonic returned to London, its every-other-year home and the seventh stop on the EUROPE / SPRING 2017 tour. There, the Orchestra performed adventurous concerts as part of its third residency at the Barbican Centre under the auspices of its International Associates initiative. Highlights included Yo-Yo Ma in Composer-in-Residence Esa-Pekka Salonen's new Cello Concerto, John Adams with the New York Philharmonic String Quartet, and the first-ever Very Young People's Concert abroad. 

Cheek By Jowl's THE WINTER'S TALE to be Screened in April

Following the successful screenings of Measure for Measure and Ubu Roi, Cheek by Jowl today announce the screening of their latest production of The Winter's Tale live from the Barbican Centre on 19 April at 7.30pm. The production is currently on an international tour ahead of performances at the Barbican, where it opens on 6 April, with previews from 5 April, and runs until 22 April.

World Music Virtuoso Anoushka Shankar Comes To Folsom

The Harris Center proudly presents a singular figure renowned in both classical Indian and world music. Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar has garnered five Grammy Award-nominations and the title 'Asian Hero' by Time magazine. She studied sitar under her father and guru, the late Ravi Shankar, making her professional classical debut at the age of 13. With 11 recordings to her credit (including Traces of You, which features Anoushka's half-sister Norah Jones, and Home, from which her Folsom program will be culled), 'her exquisite sitar playing...lives up to the virtuosity that made her the youngest woman ever nominated for a World Music Grammy' (Harper's Bazaar).

Dawoud Bey To Be Featured Speaker At Arnold And Augusta Newman Lecture Series

 Known for his arresting photographs of Birmingham, AL and Harlem, NY in the 1960s and 70s, artist Dawoud Bey will speak about his latest projects at the Lowe on March 30 at 7 pm. A reception will follow his talk, which is a part of the Museum's Arnold and Augusta Newman Lecture Series in Photography.

Semyon Bychkov Conducts the NY Phil in BELOVED FRIEND, Today

Conceived, curated, and conducted by Semyon Bychkov, the New York Philharmonic presents Beloved Friend - Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival, a three-week festival featuring orchestral, chamber, and vocal programs that explore music by Tchaikovsky and composers who influenced or were influenced by him, from January 24 to February 11. Beloved Friend continues the Philharmonic's recent tradition of annual, multi-week festivals, with Mr. Bychkov focusing this year's festival on Tchaikovsky as part of his international, multi-season Tchaikovsky project, Beloved Friend, which also includes recordings and additional concert series.
