As BroadwayWorld previously announced, NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 will stand with the Russian LGBT community and to support one of the great advocates for human rights, Human Rights Watch, in their work to end discrimination and abuse against the LGBT community in Russia. The producers of The Great Comet just made a donation of $10,000 plus all food and beverage sales from the show's first performance in the Theater District. The Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed Broadway's Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. The concert featured songs by Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney, Adam Guettel, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Elvis Costello, Chris Thile, and Sting. Joining Clarke were Musical Director/pianist Dan Lipton, along with singers Brian d'Arcy James, Cortes Alexander, Haven Burton and Jim Caruso. Rory O'Malley has announced on his Facebook page today that he will be exiting the Tony-award winning musical BOOK OF MORMON. According to the post, his last performance will be on Sunday, January 27th.
Robert Petkoff (Anything Goes, Ragtime) and Larkin Bogan (American Idiot, Hair) have been added to the lineup of performers to join Max Vernon, one of the most innovative young voices in contemporary musical theater, in his return to Joe's Pub tonight, November 30 at 9:30PM.
