The newly imagined Broadway production of ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER starring Grammy and Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Harry Connick, Jr. will open on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at The St James Theatre. Previews are set to begin on November 12, 2011. The delightful Tony Award nominated score by Burton Lane (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) is enhanced by classics from their film scores for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) and Royal Wedding (1951). With a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, the musical is reconceived and directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer.

Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist Harry Connick, Jr. will star in a reimagined production of ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER opening fall 2011 on Broadway at a theatre to be announced. The delightful Tony Award nominated score by Burton Lane (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) is enhanced by classics from their film scores for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) and Royal Wedding (1951). AFI Honors Morgan Freeman with Lifetime Achievment Award Today

American film's finest have confirmed their participation on the American Film Institute (AFI) Gala Benefit Committee honoring 39th Life Achievement Award recipient, Morgan Freeman. Members of this year's benefit committee are Ben Affleck, Jim Carrey, Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Ashley Judd, Helen Mirren, Mike Nichols, Jack Nicholson, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Robert Redford, Tim Robbins, Steven Spielberg, Hilary Swank, Denzel Washington and Alfre Woodard. AFI will present the 39th AFI Life Achievement Award - America's highest honor for a career in film - to Freeman on June 9th. 'TV Land Presents: The AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Morgan Freeman' will air on TV Land on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Jason Patric Signs on For FX's POWERS Pilot

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran Jason Patric is set to star in FX's new pilot, 'Powers.' The series is based on a graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, and will be directed by Michael Dinner. Filming will begin in Chicago later this summer.

Production has begun in Europe on 'Missing,' ABC's highly anticipated new drama series starring Ashley Judd ('Double Jeopardy,' 'Kiss the Girls'). Exotic locations and thrilling twists will keep viewers riveted in this story of a mother whose son suddenly disappears while studying abroad, and of the surprising events that reveal just how far she'll go to find him and bring him back home. The series will begin with 10 episodes, and comes from writer Gregory Poirier ('National Treasure: Book of Secrets') and executive producers Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo ('The Gates').

A grand gala evening celebrating the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honoring decades of support by Interpublic Group, the event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert at Carnegie Hall featuring a special lineup of concert artists, followed by a black tie dinner and dance held at the luxurious Plaza Hotel.

Sean Bean Joins Cast of ABC's MISSING

According to Deadline.com, stage and screen stage Sean Bean will join Ashley Judd in ABC's 'Missing.' As described by Deadline, the series 'centers on Becca Winstone (Judd), a devoted single mom who, after her 18-year-old son disappears in Italy, takes it upon herself to travel to Europe and track him down. It soon becomes clear that Winstone is a former CIA agent who will stop at nothing to bring her son home alive. Bean will play the regular character of Becca's husband Paul, who was blown up in front of his son but will appear throughout the series in flashbacks.'

In recognition of the centennial of Williams' birth, I conducted a very unscientific survey among Nashville theater folk to determine which of his plays are the most popular and the best loved. Perhaps surprisingly, the top vote-getters in our informal survey were A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof and Summer and Smoke, shows that have been given memorable (so memorable, in fact, that people continue to talk about them) productions in Music City in the last century. Members of the Nashville theaterati have definite ideas where Williams' plays are concerned.

According to Deadline.com, Margo Matindale is set to join previously announced Patrick Wilson and Jennifer Ehle in a still untitled CBS pilot. The series is the brainchild of Susannah Grant, who is perhaps best known for her Oscar-nominated screenplay for the 2001 film Erin Brokovich.
