Following the success of last season's new DEMO series, Damian Woetzel continues to unite artists from across fields around a common theme in a performance on October 10, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. This installment of the multi-genre series brings together acclaimed artists for a special one-night performance to celebrate their heroes and artistic inspirations. Robert Battle will lead Ailey through the UK (September 9 – October 19) for the first time since becoming Artistic Director, including the Company's inaugural visits to Southampton and Canterbury, England. Presented by Dance Consortium, the UK engagement will include 10 works performed across 10 cities. The Company will then head to the Salle Métropole in Lausanne (October 22 – 23) and The Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen (October 26 – 30). World renown jazz pianist, composer, bandleader and educator, Arturo O'Farrill will appear tomorrow, Friday, at the legendary Cornelia Street Cafe as part of the Cafe's SOLOFEST. O'Farrill, a multi-Grammy Award winner, founder and Artistic Director of the non-profit, Afro Latin Jazz Alliance will appear solo on this occasion, in the intimate setting of the Cafe's downstairs performance space.
