The Evening Associates Board of Directors and the Art Institute of Chicago are have announced the fourth annual “Night Heist” benefit, to be held in the museum's Modern Wing on July 11, 2014. This year's event, influenced by the Chicago presentation of the groundbreaking exhibition Magritte: The Mystery of the Ordinary, 1926-1938 , will draw upon the extraordinary imagery created by the legendary Belgian surrealist René Magritte.

In partnership with NYU's Fales Library, which recently acquired the archive, MAD will premiere ten individual screenings that draw from over 200 hours of remastered footage by Emily Armstrong and Pat Ivers.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa today announced Hubbard Street Dance Chicago among 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive NEA Art Works grants. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the opening of the visual art exhibition Digital Hand. On view April 25-May 25, 2014, at the Trust's 709 Penn Gallery, the exhibition features works created by students participating in a course exploring the sculptural possibilities of digital fabrication taught by Tom Lauerman, assistant professor of art at the Penn State School of Visual Arts (SoVA).
