Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three free staged readings of "FRIDA" a new musical by Michael Aman and Dana P. Rowe, directed by Maria Torres. The readings will take place on Friday, October 25th at 6:00pm, and Saturday, October 26th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Theatre at the 14th Street Y, 314 East 14th Street. Transport Group, the Drama Desk and OBIE award-winning theatre company, has announced that Almost, Maine, written by John Cariani and directed by Jack Cummings III, and I Remember Mama, written by John Van Druten and directed by Mr. Cummings, will comprise the company's 2013-14 season. Both productions will take place at the Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street, where Transport Group will now be in residency.

The swinging '60s came back to life again on October 19 when the Rosemont Theatre and Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens hosted a benefit for Salute Inc., a non-profit organization that provides financial support for military men and women and their families. Featuring a performance by "THE RAT PACK IS BACK!," a tribute to the legendary 1960s stars known as "The Rat Pack," the evening featured timeless music and hilarious comedy.

On Monday, October 28 (7:30pm), Kutztown University Presents will welcome back alumnus and founder of Arlington, Virginia's TONY-award winning Signature Theatre, Eric Schaeffer, as he directs Signature Broadway. Celia Banks, author of a series of children's books, will be speaking at local venues around the Columbus area in October. Her books provide an interactive learning experience for children while teaching lessons about living a Christian life. Banks will present storytimes at several Upper Arlington preschools and a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group in Westerville, in late October.

The Boston Jewish Film Festival, Nov. 6-18, turns 25 this milestone year. Transporting audiences to an era of mobsters, moonshine, and murder, Cynthia von Buhler's SPEAKEASY DOLLHOUSE brings an actual unsolved Prohibition-era murder to life in the downtown building that once served as mobster Meyer Lansky's hangout. For three upcoming Saturday performances - November 16, November 23, and December 7 - Tony Award nominee Euan Morton will step into the DOLLHOUSE to play the role of bandleader "Henry Azelrod," performing with members of the jazz band Grandpa Musselman & His Syncopators.

Magic Theatre welcomes award-winning playwright Victor Lodato and Obie Award-winning composer Polly Pen with the world premiere of their musical Arlington. This unique musical production runs November 13 - December 8, 2013.

In an effort to bring troops and their families stationed in the Middle East, Germany and the United Kingdom special moments this Halloween season, the USO is once again deploying five bestselling thriller authors abroad as part of the 'Operation Thriller IV' USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour October 24 - November 1. Unlike any 'Operation Thriller' USO tour in its series, this year's installment will kick off with a three-day visit to the nation's capital.

The most wonderful time of the year is underway as rehearsals begin this week for Goodman Theatre's A Christmas Carol, 'a joyous present for the entire family' (Chicago Sun-Times), in its 36th annual production. Directing the holiday favorite for the first time, Henry Wishcamper's production features all-new on stage magic-set elements, special effects and more. The cast of 27 (below, includes 14 new and 13 returning cast members) stars Larry Yando, who most recently appeared in Mary Zimmerman's production of The Jungle Book as Shere Khan, in his sixth turn as Ebenezer Scrooge and 8-year-old Matthew Abraham as Tiny Tim for the second year. A Christmas Carol runs November 16 - December 28 in the Goodman's Albert Theatre.

Amphibian Stage Productions presents its final main stage production of the 2013 season, Death Tax by Lucas Hnath. Georgia Clinton, Stormi Demerson, John Forkner, and Laurel Whitsett will star in this dark comedy, running tonight, October 17 through Sunday, November 10 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Rene Moreno will direct the production.

College football's greatest intersectional rivalry renews this Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC from Notre Dame Stadium where the Fighting Irish host the USC Trojans in primetime for only the second time. Coverage begins with Countdown to Kickoff on NBCSN at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Community Theatre of Little Rock continues its 58 Season with its Holiday Classic 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" by Barbara Robinson. During the month of November, the BPA Gallery hosts dramatic and compelling images of the Vietnam Memorials and Arlington Cemetery by veteran and photographer Bill Woods. He commemorates the service of all U.S. military veterans with this powerfully moving exhibit featuring ten evocative photographs using digital images, B&W archival prints and framing.

Signature Theatre has announced the pairing of one of the theatre's most celebrated friends with the upcoming 2013/14 season's newest play. Shakespeare Theatre Company Artistic Director Michael Kahn returns to Signature this fall for the first time in nearly twenty years to direct the world premiere of Pride in the Falls of Autrey Mill, the new play by Paul Downs Colaizzo.
