On February 12, the Grammy Award-winning mezzo Susan Graham returns to the Metropolitan Opera to sing the "role she was born to sing"*, starring opposite Placido Domingo in the title role of Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride.

Dallas Opera Announces Season Of 'Tragic Obsessions'

The Dallas Opera is pleased to announce the five darkly dazzling operas that comprise the company's 2011-12 season in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. With opening night on Friday, October 21, 2011, the 55th international season - "Tragic Obsessions" - will showcase compelling works by Donizetti, Janacek, Wagner, Verdi and Mozart, and will include an outstanding Dallas opera-in-concert, important debuts and some of the company's most renowned productions. Each opera will feature the superbly talented Dallas Opera Orchestra and Dallas Opera Chorus and will be performed in its original language, with English translations projected above the stage at every performance. Graham continues the holiday season on December 15-16 in "Christmas at the Basilica" with the Orchestre symphonique de Montreal, a concert that will be nationally televised in Canada.

Mother-Daughter Team Stars in THE CRADLE WILL ROCK, 9/28-29

The mother-daughter team of Mimi Stern-Wolfe and Laura Wolfe, longtime residents of the Lower East Side, will both appear in the upcoming production of Marc Blitzstein's historic musical 'The Cradle Will Rock,' presented by Howl Festival and the Actor's Fund. The four performances are September 2 & 3, and September 28 & 29 at Theatre 80 St. Mark's. Mimi Stern-Wolfe is a well known presenter and director of Downtown Music Productions, and will accompany the show on piano. Her daughter Laura Wolfe will appear in the role of Moll, the down-and-out streetwalker.
