Cameron Mackintosh Says MISS SAIGON is Next Musical to Hit Big Screen

On Christmas Day, the highly anticipated film version of Les Miserables hits the big screen, and according to producer Cameron Mackintosh, there might be another Boublil & Schonberg musical coming soon after. According to Ohnotheydidint, Mackintosh recently revealed: "If Les Mis is a success then Miss Saigon will be made into a film. It isn't confirmed at this point but there are many people sniffing around and offers coming in."

The Public Theater announced today that Public Theater alumna and Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway, who played Viola in the critically acclaimed 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, will perform a one-night-only concert, Perfectly Marvelous: The Songs of Cabaret with Anne Hathaway and Friends, on Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at Joe's Pub to celebrate and support The Public Theater's revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place. Member tickets on sale now. Single tickets go on sale on Tuesday, October 2.

Anne Hathaway looked stunning Thursday evening at the NYC Ballet's Fall Gala honoring Valentino Garavani. Hathaway wore a shear, floral gown by Valentino and announced that same evening she will wed in a custom gown by the designer as well.

Last night, the New York City Ballet honored Valentino at its annual Fall gala. As part of the celebration, the designer created costumes for three ballets including a long Valentino red chiffon gown for Not My Girl, to the Bal de Couture featuring black, white and red tutus, as well as stunning black and white dresses with hot pink and red skirts underneath. He also designed all the tuxedos for the men in the performance.

Now according to Variety, after 'The Great Gatsby' and 'Life of Pi' were pushed back, the release of 'Les Miserables' has been postponed until Christams Day- December 25. Universal plans to use the new gap to 'take advantage of holiday crowds.'

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced a unique fundraiser on the stage of the historic Millburn Theater tonight, September 15, at 7:00pm. With live-entertainment by cabaret performer Eddie Bruce, cocktail party guests will be treated to food from Exquisite Entertaining, one of NJ's premier caterers known for their delectable creations, and wine by Sean Larkin whose Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon have garnered rave reviews. Tickets are $300 per person, $200 of which is tax deductible, and all of the proceeds will go to benefit the many artistic, education, and outreach programs of Paper Mill Playhouse.
