Did Anne Hathaway Offend Valentino at Oscars?
by Jennifer Diamond
- Feb 27, 2013
Anne Hathaway accepted her first Oscar Sunday night for Best Supporting Actress wearing a pale pink Prada column gown. But her gown choice may have ruffled some feathers at the house of Valentino. The actress told reporters on the red carpet of her Prada dress, “I didn't know what I was wearing until two hours ago. I tried on a lot of dresses, but at the end of the day, I loved the simplicity of it.” Apparently, Valentino thought it had a lock on her Oscar look and sent out a press release before Hathaway hit the red carpet. The misinformation was picked up by the blogosphere, causing momentary confusion about which designer she was wearing.

I have already named my Best Dressed of the Oscars but now I am picking my favorite fashion change of the night. I love how the stars opt for a different dress to attend many parties following the awards. Some go for a short number, some opt for something a little more comfortable, like Anne Hathaway. But for Amy Adams, she went one from one stunning Oscar de la Renta gown to another.

How gorgeous were Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts last night? They both looked striking and elegant in Armani Prive. Chastain channeling old Hollywood glamour and Watts with a little more modern edge. I could not decide which of these two gorgeous women were my best dressed of the last night's Oscars. So, since neither talented actress got to take home the coveted statue, they both get the honor of Best Dressed.
