BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you 'Songs from My Living Room'- a new series that goes into the home of one of today's most acclaimed contemporary songwriters, as he explains the stories behind his songs. The monthly series will feature special guests from all corners of the entertainment industry to help bring to life the music and lyrics of Scott Alan straight from his living room into yours. The second episode, directed by Robbie Rozelle, features jazz vocalist Jane Monheit singing Alan's 'Always' from his second album, 'Keys'.

On Sunday March 9th, London-based production company KiwiFruits Productions returns to the St James Theatre with four of the West End's most acclaimed female vocalists, Louise Dearman (Wicked, Evita), Annalene Beechey (Disney's Beauty And The Beast, Wicked), Rebecca Lock (Dear World, Avenue Q) and Laura Pitt-Pulford (The Light Princess, Parade), in an exclusive one-night-only tribute concert dedicated to an Entertainment Industry Legend, the iconic BARBRA STREISAND.

On August 4th, acclaimed composer and lyricist Scott Alan wil return for his biggest concert yet at the IndigO2 Theatre Arena at the O2. The 7pm concert, produced by Amzi Entertainment, will feature a 15 piece orchestra and feature song selections from Alan's four albums, 'Dreaming Wide Awake,' 'Keys,' 'What I Wanna Be When I Grow Up,' and 'LIVE.' The cast list for Amzi Entertainment presents 'The Songs of Scott Alan' is presently: Willemijn Verkaik, Richard Fleeshman, Ricardo Afonso, John Owen-Jones, Shoshana Bean, Cynthia Erivo, Simon Bailey, Scott Garnham, Greg Oliver, Nathan James, Anton Zetterholm, Riccardo Greco, Siobhan Dillon, Ashleigh Gray, Julie Atherton, Jodie Jacobs, Katie Paine, Annalene Beechey, Chloe Hart, Sophie Thierens and contest winners Nathan Lodge and Holly-Anne Hull.

SimG Records, the independent label devoted to new musical theatre writers and artists, is to release Looking Up, the debut solo album from leading man Simon Bailey, next Monday 17th December.

Following last year's sell-out festive event at the Battersea Barge, CHRISTMAS WITH... is on the 16th December, and will once again be hosted by West End leading lady ANNALENE BEECHEY ('Wicked', Eliza in 'My Fair Lady' BBC Prom) with guests REBECCA LOCK ('Phantom', 'Avenue Q'), SIMON BAILEY ('Phantom', 'Teatro'), and SIMON THOMAS ('Legally Blonde', 'Phantom').

Mercury Musical Developments (MMD) is an organisation dedicated to the development and presentation of new musical theatre writing, and on Sunday 14 October, the Novello Theatre will play host to MMD's 20th Anniversary Gala. We caught up with Madalena Alberto, Dougal Irvine and Grant Olding to find out a bit more about this star-studded evening.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mercury Musical Developments, performers including Michael Xavier, Janie Dee, Claire Moore, Hayley Gallivan, Maria Friedman, Danielle Hope, Alison Jiear, Haydn Gwynne, Sally Anne Triplett, David Bedella, Tam Mutu, Paul Kaye, Stuart Matthew Price, Lucy May Barker, Madalena Alberto and Jenna Russell will feature at a gala concert on October 14 at the Novello Theatre.

Joining the already announced Anthony Andrews as Professor Higgins, and Annalene Beechey as Eliza, acclaimed British actors Alun Armstrong, James Fleet and Siân Phillips are to join glittering stars of the stage Jenny Galloway and Julian Ovenden at the BBC Proms performance of Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady on 14 July 2012.

We've all got a little excited recently about the new British musical theatre composers edging through into the mainstream, with Stiles and Drewe's Betty Blue Eyes reaching the West End last year, and Grant Olding, Michael Bruce and Dougal Irvine all getting tons of critical acclaim. BWW:UK's own Robert Gould is the book writer and lyricist for new show My Land's Shore, which is about to have its cast recording released.
