The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces its upcoming film series and events:

Production Designer Sarah Greenwood will receive Hollywood Film Awards' Hollywood Production Designer of the Year Award at Festival's 16th annual awards presentation tonight, Oct. 22.

Beautifully crafted, wonderfully funny and charmingly English, the play marked Ayckbourn's breakthrough West End hit and this production will be its first West End revival since it played at the Duke of York's Theatre in 1967, when the critics hailed the arrival of a great new comic talent.

RESTLESS, Sundance Channel's riveting original miniseries, will premiere December 7th at 9 pm et/pt with part two premiering on December 14th at 9pm et/pt, it was announced today.

The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards, presented by the Los Angeles Times, is pleased to announce that three-time Academy Award nominated actress, Amy Adams will be given the 'Hollywood Supporting Actress Award;' editor Dylan Tichenor, A.C.E., will receive the 'Hollywood Editor Award;' and production designer Sarah Greenwood, A.D.G., will be given the 'Hollywood Production Designer Award.'

Brian Friel's adaptation of Ibsen's seminal work, Hedda Gabler, will open at The Old Vic tonight, 12 September. Directed by Anna Mackmin, this major new production will star Olivier award-winning actress Sheridan Smith in the title role with Darrell D'Silva as Judge Brack, Buffy Davis as Bertha, Daniel Lapaine as Eilert Loevborg, Anne Reid as Juliana Tesman, Adrian Scarborough as George Tesman, and Fenella Woolgar as Thea Elvsted.

Opera San Jose General Director Irene Dalis has announced repertoire for the company's 29th season to begin today, Saturday, September 8 with Georges Bizet's exotic romance The Pearl Fishers, one of four productions never before staged at the California Theatre. Anthony Quartuccio conducts, with stage direction by Richard Harrell, director of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music opera program.

Today the Board of Entertainment One Ltd. announces that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Alliance Films, a leading independent distributor of filmed entertainment products in Canada, the United Kingdom and Spain, from affiliates of GS Capital Partners and Investissement Québec for approximately CAD$225 million.
