Producer John Breglio and the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. will bring Broadway uptown for four weeks only with Dreamgirls at the Apollo Theater, prior to the national tour of the new production of the groundbreaking musical. The national tour of Dreamgirls will kick-off at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125 Street) beginning previews Saturday, November 7, 2009, and opening Sunday, November 22, 2009, for 4 weeks only, through Sunday December, 6, 2009.

Rolex presents 'AMERICA DANCES! Celebrating Our Sparkling Heritage - Broadway, TV & Film'- Career Transition For Dancers' 24th Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm at New York City Center. Patrick Swayze (1952 - 2009) will be honored posthumously with the 2009 Rolex Dance Award. The Career Transition For Dancers' Awards for Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance will be given to Lawrence Herbert and the Lloyd E. Rigler - Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation. The show will be followed by an 'Anniversary Supper with the Stars' at The Grand Ballroom at The Hilton New York.

Tony Award winner and Broadway Star Ann Reinking joins the Gala, which will be the entertainment-dance event of the new season. The Rolex Dance Award will be given to Patrick Swayze. First prize includes: Two Benefactor Tickets (includes premiere Gala performance and 'Anniversary Supper with the Stars' seating); Photo on the red carpet at the supper; Signed poster by the America Dances! There is no doubt that Bye Bye Birdie is one of this season's most highly anticipated shows. With an all star cast that includes John Stamos and Gina Gershon, and the cache of being one of the most popular musicals of all time, critics and audience members alike are eager to see what this revival will bring--48 years after it last left Broadway. As the New York Times points out in a special Birdie feature today, the show is not an easy revival, and has had a string of productions starring major players (such as Tommy Tune and Ann Reinking in the 1991 road show) that received a lukewarm reception.
