In honor of THIRTEEN's 50th anniversary on September 16, 2012, the flagship station of PBS is kicking off a year-long celebration the week of September 17-23, 2012 with the premiere of Pioneers of THIRTEEN, a four-part documentary chronicling the growth and breadth of the station's programming over 50 years.
The producers of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 smash hit movie that defined a generation, have just announced that the production will arrive on Broadway in August 2013 with a theater, dates and casting to be announced.
Times Square, TimesSquare.com, has released its list of jury members for their first annual logo design competition. The winning design will replace the current logo on Times Square's namesake portal: TimesSquare.com. The contest is being hosted on Design Crowd http://www.designcrowd.com/timessquare-logo-contest and includes $10,000 worth of prizes. The winner (1st prize) will receive $5,000 with a further $5,000 of prizes for runners-up. The 2012 and winners will be announced on December 12, 2012.
Dance New Amsterdam (DNA), NYC's foremost progressive dance education center and performance space, champions experimentation in its rowdy LateNite series, a triannual portion of the DNA PRESENTS season, which gives a voice to artists working within the mediums of performance art, burlesque and experimental theater. The season's first installment, IT'S LIKE WE ARE INFILTRATORS, PART II, is a multi-disciplinary and installation-based evening curated and conceived by Neal Medlyn. The performances on October 5-6 will also feature his original music, both live and recorded.Each hour-long performance begins at 10:00 p.m.

Soho Theatre has announced a full summer season of theatre, comedy and cabaret to be presented both at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in London. In theatre, the group presents new work from Phil Porter, Will Eno and Joel Horwood. In Edinburgh and in London Soho presents acts from across the globe, including Barry Award Winner Doctor Brown and the joint Best Newcomer Winners from the Melbourne Comedy Festival Matt Okine and Ronny Chieng. Plus the return of the Soho Literary Festival.
