Winner of five 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Play and based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford, the tour of War Horse is directed by Bijan Sheibani based on the original Tony Award®-winning direction by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, and presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa. Michael Morpurgo's novel, War Horse, is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg's feature film of the same name, which earned six Academy Award® nominations including Best Picture. Press night will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, August 4, 2012, Civic Center Members in Des Moines were treated to an exclusive visit from 'Joey,' the star of WAR HORSE. More than 125 were in line at 6 a.m. to take advantage of early purchasing and watched 'Joey' make several appearances to cheering crowds. Watch the videos below!

Producers Bob Boyett and the National Theatre of Great Britain present the U.S. tour of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, WAR HORSE, which launched at the Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre on June 14 and continues through next Saturday, July 29. Storytelling on stage is at its theatrical best when all the technical elements utilized blend together so smoothly that you take for granted that they are there at all. Such is the case with the amazing War Horse, based on a children's novel by Michael Morpurgo in which a young boy Albert (Andrew Veenstra) attempts to groom his foal Joey to adulthood as a farm horse, only to lose him to the ravages of World War I in England and France. Boy gets horse, boy falls in love with horse, boy loses horse, but... If you love animals and understand and respect what transpires deepdown between man and beast, you will love War Horse, as, in spite of the war horrors depicted, love is at the very core and champions above all else. Now in its US tour, War Horse is fortunately with us at the Ahmanson through July 29 only, and this beautiful production must not be missed.

Fiddler on the Roof, kicks off Barrington Stage Company's 2012 Mainstage Season for a five week run from June 13 through July 14. The award-winning regional theatre in downtown Pittsfield celebrates its 18th season in the Berkshires under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director. Directed and choreographed by Gary John La Rosa, with music direction by Darren R. Cohen, Fiddler on the Roof will have an official opening night on Sunday, June 17 at 5pm.

Casting was announced today for the upcoming U.S. tour of the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play, WAR HORSE. The company, comprised of more than 30 performers, includes Andrew Veenstra as Albert Narracott, Brian Keane as Arthur Narracott, Michael Wyatt Cox as Billy Narracott, Todd Cerveris as Ted Narracott, Angela Reed as Rose Narracott, Jason Loughlin as Lieutenant James Nicholls, and Jason Alan Carvell as Private Schnabel.

Present Theatre presents Dominic Taylor's new play, STOP SEARCH, from tonight April 27 till May 26 at the Catford Broadway Theatre. The show is directed by Thierry Harcourt and designed by Libby Watson with lighting by Andrew May and Consultant Paule Constable. The score was written by Daniel Adeyemi and Jermaine Opara.

The politics of ethnic and sexual identity take center stage in comic playwright Enrique Urueta's LEARN TO BE LATINA, winner of the first national Great Gay Play Contest. Mercilessly off-color, the show offers a comedic take on cultural appropriation-and what makes a pop culture star.

The Pearl Theatre Company's production of Eugene O'Neill's A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN plays its final performance tonight, April 15, at New York City Center Stage II. This masterpiece, written in the twilight of O'Neill's illustrious career, follows a moonlight encounter between two lonely souls. The production was directed by J.R. Sullivan.

Park Square Theatre presents American Family, a world premiere commission, produced in association with Carlyle Brown & Company, March 16 through April 7. Marion McClinton, who directed his first play in 1981 in the old Park Square Court building, will direct this new work by playwright Carlyle Brown-who will also act in the production.
