MEMPHIS Stars Receive Cabrillo's Selvin Charitable Foundation Scholarship

MEMPHIS stars Lakeisha Renee Houston and Brandon Fleming are recipients of the first SELVIN CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP. Harry and Maureen Selvin, longtime patrons of the arts and supporters of Cabrillo Music Theatre, have developed this scholarship, to be presented on the final performance of each Cabrillo Music Theatre production, to the performer in that Cabrillo show that best exemplifies the spirit of Cabrillo Music Theatre. At the November 23rd performance of MEMPHIS, Houston and Fleming each receive a $500 cash scholarship, a personal trophy, and name recognition on a permanent plaque of all those recognized, to reside in the Cabrillo Music Theatre office.

Andrew Lippa and Brian Crawley's beloved musical, A Little Princess, just played 54 Below This special holiday season concert featured Abigail Shapiro (current star of Liberty: A Monumental New Musical, 'Cindy Lou Who' in How The Grinch Stole Christmas) as Sara Crewe, composer Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Addams Family, I am Harvey Milk) as Miss Minchin, Anthony Warlow ('Daddy Warbucks' in Annie) as Captain Crewe, Emerson Steele (young 'Violet' in Violet) as Becky, Alicia Hall Moran (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess) as Aljana, Alexandra Silber (Master Class) as Mother Sara/Victoria/Amelia along with Paige Brady ('Matilda' inMatilda The Musical), Ava Ulloa ('Matilda' in Matilda The Musical), Mavis Simpson-Ernst (Evita), and Emma Howard(Matilda The Musical, Violet).

NYMF'S NEXT BROADWAY SENSATION 2014 Finalists Announced

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced finalists for the 2014 NYMF'S NEXT BROADWAY SENSATION competition. The first two rounds of competition were held Friday and Saturday at New World Stages.

Kate Baldwin to Lead Off-Broadway Revival of Andrew Lippa's JOHN & JEN

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company today announced that Kate Baldwin would star in a rare revival of John & Jen, the musical with music by Andrew Lippa, lyrics by Tom Greenwald, and a book by Greenwald and Lippa. This production will include the premiere of a new song, "Trouble with Men." Additional casting and designers to be announced shortly.
